Numb, that's the only feeling he felt. There was no feeling in his body. He didn't feel sorrow. He didn't feel loss. He felt numb. Numb to the point where nothing hurts anymore. Jequirity was ripped from his loving arms. The last words he wanted to say were never said. The door closed faster than he could get them out. His heart felt crushed. The pieces of dust just floating along in his bloodstream like nothing was there. His heart wasn't with him anymore. It was with her. Everything belonged to her. His heart. His love. His whole being.
Riordan had been drinking the night that Jeq left him for the capitol. Alcohol on his breath. His feet not holding him up as he walked back to the Opera House. His misplaced steps causing him to slip and fall and land on the ground. "W-Whoopsssss." Riordan got up and silently made it back to Tempus. His eyes stared at his room full of nothingness. There was nothing in there that was his or reminded him of anyone. He was alone. He was alone like he always is. Riordan was destined to live a life alone with no one to love or no one to be there for him. Riordan pulled himself up into the bed and laid on top of it. His eyes watching the ceiling like it was about to fall on top of him and crush him. Breaak all of his bones and kill him. End all of the pain that he felt in his soul.
Riordan whispered to himself, "Jack. Jack. Commmmmme back. Pleassssseeee." Riordan passed out in that moment. His sleeping form looked dead. His whole body seemed to be dead. He wasn't moving except for a very slight movement of the chest. The night was quiet and Riordan didn't wake once. Once he did wake the sun was shining bright. A huge hangover hit him like he was in a hurricane. Riordan walked towards the kitchen area and got himself a glass of water to help ease the pain, but it didn't do much for him.
Riordan went straight to town to check the games, it was now a few weeks later. He hadn't checked since she left. He didn't want to feel the pain swallow him. He didn't need the numbness to be replaced with pain. He needed it to stay numb. He needed her. He needed this moment. Jequirity needed to be alive. And a sigh of relief left him as he saw her with Leo and Saxton fighting against some alliance that had some crazy chicks and two guys that were just as crazy. Then Jequirity and Saxton left Leo. Leo was dead and Riordan had to look away. He had to get out of there.
That night Riordan had gone somewhere else. The cemetery. Naveen Casovnik. His first crush and his first love. She had been killed by Wednesdae who was just as dead as Navy. Riordan crouched down next to it. His mind blank with no words forming. His heart was beating faster than it had been. "N-Navy... I dunno what to do anymore.. Life sucks. I should. I shouldn't be here. I should just disappear before they drag Jequirity back in a body bag for the family to take care of. I should be in the games. N-Not her..." The boy started crying into his hands.
A rustle from a bush somewhere. Riordan looked up finally and saw something that would haunt him for the next few days. A big man with a knife. Riordan's eyes went wide. "Oh looks like I found myself a pretty one to play with." Riordan was about to bolt, but all he felt was numb. The numbness swallowing his body whole. Riordan was like a deer stuck in headlights. "W-What are you going to do?" Riordan said in a scared voice. The male smiled and slowly closed the distance between Riordan and him.
A scream rang through the cemetery and Riordan's hand held the blade that was going to enter him. The blade was pointing the wrong way to hurt Riordan, but instead was inside the bigger man. The guy screamed and the male fell to the ground. Riordan felt his body go stiff. Riordan had just stabbed a man. Riordan's feet finally picked up a signal to run. Riordan was out of there quick. He could see someone helping the bigger male. Riordan ran as fast as he could go. The feeling of numb still there. Rio felt like he wasn't human. He just stabbed a man. He stabbed him in the stomach. Riordan felt himself crouch into a fetal position on his bed and cry. Riordan was crying for what seemed hours. A blinding white pain finally took him as the memory of what happened came back to him.
Riordan left the Opera House again to go check on the man who he stabbed. That's where Riordan went wrong. You never check on someone who was trying to stab you. As soon as Riordan got to the hospital. Another man came up to Riordan and began screaming at him, "You stabbed my father you asshole! You almost killed him! I should beat your ass right here and right now!" Riordan slowly began to back up. "I-I d-d-didn't m-mean to hu-rt him..." Riordan staggered out.
The son of the man he stabbed pushed Rio into a wall and began to wail on him. He felt only numb. Numb was the only feeling he had. The pain wasn't there. There was never any pain. Riordan had stopped the pain from taking him. He was going to be forever numb. Then Riordan finally looked up to hear the son scream at him, "You're a waste of space!" Riordan knew he was. He felt like a waste of space. He's felt like that his whole entire life. Nothing but a creature sucking up oxygen from other perfectly good people. Riordan had no purpose. Why was he even there? Riordan knew this guy was right and that's why he let him beat him up.
Riordan felt the fist collide with his face and his nose gushes blood from the impact. Riordan feels a fist collide with his ribs and Riordan knew something was broke. A crack could be heard. A fist collided with his collarbone and another crack sounded. Riordan took the beating. Riordan felt something finally. There was a blinding white pain. And thent he final hit was to the face again. This time the world felt like it was spinning. He was spinning. The world slowly began to darken as Rio fell. He was alone and broken. There was no being fixed from this. Riordan was broken. The last thing he heard was a doctor shoving the son out of the way to get to Riordan. His eyes slowly closed as the thought in his head was, I hope I don't wake up...
