-her mother died a year ago during a home invasion, even though they had nothing worth stealing

-Tasha is always getting into trouble for skipping school, shoplifting and other petty crimes
-doesn’t seem to matter how often her father beats her e.g. with his belt, she still makes trouble
-she has recently run into a bad crowd in the slums of the district and they are pushing her into more and more serious crime.
