Appearance:

Ari is an albino boy with thin hair that curls just beneath his chin-line.He's got cornflower blue eyes and gentle, slightly puckered lips. His hands are soft and his fingers are those of a piano player. He always has scabs on his finger pads from slipping needles when he sews his binders. He has high cheekbones and a soft jawline. His neck is slender above pronounced collarbones.

He is a willowy figure, his hips are rather wide. His legs are long and when he walks he is graceful- until he tumbles.

From his hip to his jaw he has a rose vine tattooed, the edge sliding up over his skin to his jaw. The vine is a faded green, the green of old dresses and monet paintings left in the sun. The roses themselves are pink, a blushing pink that lights up his face.

Personality:

Arinos is an insecure boy who wants nothing more than to fade into a life where he can be comfortable and happy. A hopeless romantic, Arinos looks for love everywhere and is often prone to falling into abusive traps due to his desire to be loved. He is a sweet, gentle boy who knows how to make someone's day.

Arinos has a lot of self hatred for the death of his mother. He views himself as being a bad person, and thus is incredibly self destructive. He has a massive martyr syndrome, often destroying himself for the benefit of others. He would put himself through to the ends of the world to keep a stranger safe. Especially with minors, he is gentle and soft and warm and he is a safe place. He oozes safety and when one comes to him they often find themselves enveloped in his desire for a world where others are warm. (not himself. not that one.)

He is very elegant, even when he's clumsy. He does everything with a grace. It's as if it's not just his personality that is kind, but his very being itself. Although he often talks of his badness one finds that he is actually an incredibly good one, depending on what you view a good person as being. (3 paragraphs please)

History:

Arinos was thought to be a girl when he was born. She was nineteen and the father of her child died three months earlier. Unable to provide for her child, especially in post-natal depression, Arinos' mother left him with a wet nurse who was rarely affectionate. But when he was 2 years old his mother came and took him back. Selena Voltari was a loving, good natured mother. Though prone to lapses of depression she made sure to be available to her son. He grew up happy to a degree.

But when he was 12 he played with some matches and the house went up in a blaze. His mother was caught in the inferno and killed. As a result Selena's son grew a deep resentment for himself. When he realised he was trans he had already had the fierce displeasure and agony of dysphoria. He had it severely. Being in the textile district, albeit the middle upper class, he sewed his own binders.

He got a tattoo when he was 14, hoping to keep the goodness inside him. They were all pink, pink like the roses he'd seen in his mother's books. They were supposed to be grace, to symbolise gentleness. But now, in a new home he runs all his own, he is afraid of the darkness in his mind.
