Eryn Sconosciuto D7F Tribute “You have to assign someone in Command.” Zynnia, my older Sister’s trusted Advisor, believes she can consult me now. Still my expression remains frigid, callous to the topic at hand. How dare she overstep her reputation’s power and give me a demand. If Edyn were present she would be outraged by this behavior. My threatening glare barks in Zynnia’s direction, ordering for respect in this very chain of command she speaks of. Evidently I haven’t been disabled from my power just yet. But my mind is distracted from the events destined for my future, and consumed by the routine that’s supposedly being shredded off my fingertips. What will occur in house of Orphans when no Sconosciuto resides there to rule? “I did not train a Second, and none will take that position until I do so.” I instruct sternly, neglecting the chances upon my fate’s balance. “All severe actions are to be placed on hold until my return. And in case of an emergency…Rayne is to be looked towards.” It’s solely my Blonde bunkmate that dances before my vision, comforting my worries with the knowledge that one other Leader satisfies the requirements of being in charge. “You’re joking.” Again my eyes snap to Zynnia, appalled by her questioning. Guess I shouldn’t be too taken aback, given only a month ago we were rivals with these newcomers. She must understand that only Rayne maintains the qualifications I seek. A Peacekeeper disturbs our debate, and I couldn’t be more pleased by his timing. “Don’t disappoint me, Zynnia. Or you better pray I don’t survive.” Is warned as she’s being ushered to leave. “If you attack Rayne, you attack me.” But that is a promise. And before a replay can be provided, the door permanently separates us for the time being. Gently my palm melts into the wooden planks that originated from this District. Not once have I even considered what dwells beyond our captive borders. My attention has always been fixated on the People my sister & I have to lead. Now I’m going to be smothered by the external Panem. The simple life that awaited me here will no longer be discovered. Perhaps the mysteries of Rayne now seize to ever be comprehended. The door breaks ajar, sending my fists retrieving to my sides. I’m not ready to relinquish my land just yet. Except that white Uniforms don’t greet my acquaintance. “Rayne… Why are you here?” Every ounce of my lies is called for to avoid my breathtaking relief to observe her alluring features at this moment. My heart pounds uncontrollably, paining me with each thump. “You should…you should leave.” I insist, desperate for the strength her illuminating presence alone drains from my core. Hopefully my pitch refrains from exhibiting the sensations stampeding through my veins. “I need to concentrate.” Because currently, the last dilemma needed is the weakness Rayne |
