Appearance:

Tessa has the look of the total beach girl. Golden blonde hair reaches just past her shoulders in pretty waves, though she keeps it in a pony tail much of the time to keep it out of the way when she is working. The sixteen year old has a sun kissed look to her skin due to spending so much time in the sun. Her cheeks are a pretty shade of pink most of the time, a pretty rose color that seems permanently in them. She has sapphire blue eyes that in certain lights tend to glitter like pools of glass. Tessa tends to sunburn easily after the winter months when it is a little more cloudy outside, but she tries to keep that from happening.

She wears clothes much like the rest of her district, either covering herself from the sunlight when needed, or wearing a swim suit if she is working along the beach. She is an excellent swimmer and spends much of her time in the water so she is always seen with slightly damp hair during the day. She has a light sprinkling of freckles across her nose and cheeks when she doesn't have a tan, when she does they look less prominent. She has long legs, and a swimmers build. Strong calf muscles and arms dominate her otherwise small frame. She is on the taller side, a little over five foot six, and she tries to keep in shape in case she is ever reaped for the games.

Personality:

Tessa is a sweetheart to say the least. She is always quick to make friends and has a quick wit to go along with it. She loves to spend her time outdoors as much as possible, because it is there that she feels the most at home. If she is in the water she is happiest, she loves the feel of the cool liquid on her skin, especially salt water. Tessa is the kind of person who everyone tends to love, unless you get on her bad side in which case, to be frank, she can be a total jerk. She has a bit of a bi polar side, one moment she's all sweet and happy go lucky, then the next she's wanting to bite your head off. She just can't help herself.

She is the kind of girl that can't help but flirt with the guys, batting the lashes on her baby blue eyes to try to get her way. It helps her to go far when she needs it, but she also has had it back fire on her. She can be charismatic when she wants to be, but at the same time she can over do it and make people hate her because they think she is being fake. She is that quintessential popular girl most of the time, some people even call her the spoiled little princess, but she hates that. She works as hard as everyone else, but she just gives off that kind of vibe.

Just like the rest of those in her district she loves to be outdoors and in the water, she doesn't mind hard work, but on occasion she has to go hungry to keep her little brother fed and happy. District four wasn't as bad off as the other districts in that aspect, but as her father is too sick to work its mainly her and her mother having to bring home all the things that they family needs to keep healthy. This also has made Tessa a bit of a pessimist and sometimes even rude to others.  

History:

Jacobi and Danna Bellerose were afraid to have children at first. Their fear of their flesh and blood being put into the games made them not ever want to have children. Danna didn't want to see her child die in the arena. However, fate had something else in mind for them, and three years into their marriage Danna was pregnant. Tessa was born with those bright blue eyes that her father loved so much on her mother, and she had him wrapped around her little finger from the very moment he saw her. She grew up already loving the ocean, and everything that encompassed it. She would play in the sand, crawling through it and tossing it up into the air like glitter falling down around her. The first games she could remember she watched in her father's lap, fascination on her face. The deaths didn't faze her, which scared her mother. She seemed enthralled with it.

When she was six years old, Danna was pregnant again, this time with a little boy. Jonathan was born on a stormy night, and Tessa remembered hearing her mother screaming in her room while she hid in the kitchen, her hands over her ears. Then she heard the first baby cries and she padded her way down the hall to see her baby brother crying in her fathers arms, her mother seemed ok, and Tessa was absolutely in love with her little brother. She helped as much as she could while he was a baby and let him follow her around like a puppy dog. The first year she was old enough to be put into the reaping she woke up nervous. She was still very interested in watching the games, but being in them was a whole different situation.

She made it through the reaping, and after that started to go to work with her mother, fishing. Her father had been sick for some time now, and she had to start taking Tessarae just to be able to help the family to survive. That meant her name was in their more times than she wanted to think. She has managed to make it out every year with out being reaped, but she still has a few games to try to get through before she is too old. She is trying to keep her little brother from ever being in them, but he is almost old enough to be added to the reaping now, and that though fills her with fear every year.
