    As per usual, Marlin spent the afternoon at the training center. The only thing different was that his heart felt just a little heavier. With the recent tsunami, people who survived in the places where it hit hardest were pouring into lesser damaged areas. Marlin was lucky enough to not get hit with the monstrous wave, but it affected the entire country. His neighborhood still stood, nearly unaffected, but all the injured and sick people where a new addition. He was shocked by the entire incident. Things like that just didn't happen in 4. Being in a wealthier district, Marlin certainly wasn't used to seeing people suffer like this in a place so close to home. How could the Capitol not have warned the people about this? With all the technology they have, you would think that they'd do something about this. It was terrifying to Marlin to feel as disposable as the Capitol had made all of 4 feel.

    Trying not to focus on the negatives, Marlin poured all of his focus and energy into his current task, sword practice. He never really liked hand to hand as he liked ranged weapons, but it was essential that he get better at things he wasn't so good with. Training had never felt so therapeutic. It was almost like being in a dream with such a mundane task, he was able to let his mind wander. It seemed to swing from one place to another even more than the blade in his hand did.

    In his dazed state, the sharp pain that exploded on his right thigh came like the first thunder in a storm. He wasn't paying close enough attention, and swinging the weapon downwards caused it to collide with his thigh that happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Marlin yelled in pain while the blood poured from the new cut that sat somewhere between being deep and being shallow. He had never experienced pain like this, always being careful. Just one slip up and he was lying on the floor bleeding. Trainers quickly flocked to him while his yelling slowly turned to teeth clenching and squirming. He had always been so sensitive to pain. As if everyone didn't have enough people to tend to already.  he thought to himself, suddenly angry that he had been so careless. The whole time he was being slung over one of the trainer's shoulders and walked out of the room, all he could think of was the dumb luck he had with avoiding being hit by a tsunami, only to be hit by his own sword.

Days had went by and with it, the counts of the dead rose quickly. For a certain redhead, the dead toll was weighing hard on her. Her eyes held dark circles under them while her muscles ached with pain still from the beating she had taken during the tsunami. It was only, by the grace of ripred, that she and her family survived. Most of the residents from four were far worse off than others, but she considered herself lucky. Just to have a healing cut on the side of her face and the broken ribs and ankle was nothing short of a miracle. There had been so much worse happening to other individuals. Death, being one of them. Getting away from the place that held so many horrid memories was still wearing hard on her mind and replaced sleep with dread. Tempest had traveled to a less damaged area that didn't get hit that hard. It was a form of healing to be in a place where there was a thriving colony. People that didn't let what happened in their districts change or alter them. A pattern that wasn't broken by an outside force.

It only became more apparent when she walked into the training center. She was in search of furthering her skills and helping where she knew the atmosphere. Those that were already healers were still off helping in the relief centers. So, a healer in the center was definately needed with the little help that was here in wake of the natural disaster.

The moment her eyes partook upon the center, a very faint, hint of a smile started to tug on the side of her lips as if she never knew how to fully smile. She lingered on several training students and then looked to where there was a door that lead to the infirmary and she set off, walking through the door and introducing herself to the two ladies in the back and the gentleman that nodded in her direction when she appeared.

"Here to help out, I'm Tempest. I'm from the north side of the district... that got hit the hardest. Figured with your best healers out helping that you could use another set of hands. Do you mind?" She questions them with the utmost respect.

Before another word could be uttered, the sound of rushed footsteps caught her attention and that of the others in her presence. "What happened?" One of them muttered as Tempest stood by watching the trainer carry in the lad with blood running down his leg and as they passed her, she made eye contact with the guy. She followed immediately, as they pushed him into a room and gently laid him on the cot.

Concern filled her eyes as she watched them set to work and one of the women turned to the redhead and raised an eyebrow. "How are you with stitching up wounds?"

"The best." She proudly exclaimed and reached for gloves that were stashed away in a box.

    While Marlin was being helped along to the infirmary, the voices around him were like static from the television in his home. He could hear their voices, but the words weren't words, they were just noise. Concentrating on anything that didn't involve how pissed at himself he was, or how much his leg was screaming in pain wasn't a very simple task at the time. As he was being laid on a cot, there were a few things that stood out to him through the static. One thing was the girl with the red hair. He hadn't seen her at the training center before, or ever really.
    
    "How are you with stitching up wounds?" Stitches?! Marlin had never needed stitches, or any kind of operation really, so the fact that he was probably about to have his first terrified him. Is it gonna hurt?! Is it gonna leave a scar?! He hoped that the answer to both of those questions would be a no, but deep down, he knew that was thinking a bit optimistic. Marlin hated scars. Why were they so permanent? You don't even get to pick them most of the time, so it was basically like fate was branding you for life. He despised blemishes and took a lot of pride in anything flawless that he possessed. Scars were the bane of his existence

    "The best." Thank god the suffering boy thought to himself. He didn't know this girl, but he was more than thankful that she decided to show up at the training center today of all days.
