"You're strong, Weaver. Remember that."
The door slammed, and Weaver looked down at the golden locket hanging from his hand. Elidor had given it to him, and it wasn't an old one. This one had been taken care of for many years, yet when he opened it up nothing was inside except his own reflection. A tiny mirror was tucked away inside so every time he opened he saw himself for him. Nothing different. Nothing else. It was only him.
He reached into his pocket removing the pocket watch his father gave him many years ago, and he removed the tiny picture from inside. A picture of his parents along with Crusader when he was a baby. His eyes fixated on the picture for only a moment before slipping it inside the locket he just received before placing the watch back inside his pocket.
A soft sigh fell from his lips as he paced around the floor counting his steps wondering if anyone else cared enough to say goodbye. Yet he understood if nobody else wanted to because goodbye was final. It meant nobody would see him ever again; unfortunately, for Weaver, it was the truth. President Snow had condemned him to death along with his district partner, Iona -
His heart shattered at the thought, and he finally stopped in front of the window. His eyes glared at the outside world wishing he was free, but Weaver was nothing more than a caged animal awaiting to be extradited into the greedy hands of the Capitol. Seconds past, and nothing happened. Seconds quickly turned into minutes, and he thought the peacekeepers would drag him away at any given moment. But nothing happened. Silence devoured him as his knees gave way, and a river flowed from his eyes saturating the floor once more.
