District 10 Female Tribute 73rd Hunger Games | Bailey Truus There is nothing to fear if you don't fear death. One after another Bailey watched as her fellow tributes slinked back out into the training center. Lunch still hung heavy in the pit of Bailey's stomach and its taste still lingered sweetly on her tongue. Although Bailey knew the time to train was now she didn't budge from her seated place. She wasn't sure if she could handle another six hours training alongside sweaty children praying for just one more day of life. The sheer mass of darkness that plagued nearly everyone of them was enough to drown all of Panem. It was a useless darkness that they were utterly allowing themselves to be wrapped within. It was a veil Bailey refused to live beneath. Emse would disprove of her if she even attempted to do so. Bailey owed it to the girl she had sentenced to death to not allow herself to fade into complacency and normality. Bailey was black sheep and she would never allow herself to roam with the white flock. Across the quiet cafeteria came the sudden sound of a door closing. Bailey chose to ignore the sound as stood slowly from her place at one of them many tables. A sigh slipped through Bailey's lips as she moved towards the center of the large room. Bailey closed her eyes and she could swear she heard the words of past tributes filling her ears. Bailey was far from the first tribute to stand in this room, and she was far from the last. But for now, she was one of the ones alive. Once opening her eyes again Bailey laid herself down on the cool tiled floor. The ceiling was plain and grey but littered with several cracks, but within those cracks Bailey saw a simple message. Even the sturdiest of things can crumble and break apart. However before Bailey could really delve into her meaningless revelation the sound of footsteps pulled her eyes to a girl with hair as blonde as her own. "Hey," Bailey said quite monotonously "Care to join me?" |
