"I want to be your favorite hello and your hardest goodbye"
It was only day one of the Panem Olympics, meaning that it wasn't quite my turn to compete. I would be competing in individual archery, as well as the individual javelin throw, which it wasn't quite time for yet. Regardless, I felt that I was ready for them. In the time that I was waiting for my events, I was staying in the Olympic Village in District Four. It was actually quite cool, being able to go to another district. There were people from the career districts, which are One, Two and Four, all gathered there to either witness or compete in the events. I was lucky enough to be one of the competitors, and at the same time, I would be able to meet the other people that were there.
There were a lot of people from District One that I already knew that were competing in the Olympic Games, but there were also many people that I didn't know, from One, as well as other districts. That morning, I decided I would try to socialize while the first day's events were going on and perhaps meet some athletes from other Districts that would be competing later on. A lot of the other athletes were simply wandering around the Olympic Village that morning, so it was the perfect opportunity.
As I wandered like the others, I managed to strike up a few conversations. There was one conversation that stood out to me among the others, however, and certainly went farther than I expected it too. When I first spoke to this boy, I immediately noticed that he seemed a bit different from the other people there. Not only that, his reason for competing seemed a bit different from many others as well. I spoke to him, and he explained things to me that I hadn't expected. I had greeted him kindly, and introduced myself. This was what got us talking, as was one of the most enjoyable parts of the Olympics so far, in my opinion. I loved talking with new people, and this boy was definitely making things enjoyable.
Of course, I had never seen this boy around before. He was slightly younger than me, and I found out he was from District Two. He planned on participating in weightlifting, and I explained to him what events I was going to be in. I could tell by looking at him that there was certainly a chance of him doing rather well in weightlifting. He was well-built and seemed rather muscular. Also, even if this last thing wouldn't help him in the Olympic Games, it was helping him in this conversation- he was rather attractive. When I first saw him, I was attracted to him. I wasn't sure why, as I wasn't normally immediately drawn to people due to their appearance. Perhaps this boy was just a bit different.
