Name: Rita Winters
Age: 12
Gender: female
District/Area: District 12
Birthday: September 18
Faceclaim: Ciara Bravo
Appearance:
Rita never liked her appearance much. Actually, she always thought it sucks. Everyone says she is almost an exact copy of her father, Daniel. Why can't she look like her mother or Poppy? Rita's hair is very long and brown, just like her sister's, but not even nearly as thick and beautiful. Her dark brown eyes always look embarrassing in the mirror. She hates this particular color more than any other. And her mouth is much smaller, than Poppy's, which gives her a bitter and sad look if she forgets to smile.
Even her build doesn't look quite normal. Rita is too tall for her age, almost as tall as her elder sister. Besides, she is so thin, that almost everybody thinks she is bulimic, and no matter how hard she tries, it isn't changing. The only thing she considers rather nice about herself is her nose, which looks more or less like Poppy's. It makes her think that her face might not be a lost cause, after all. But she still doesn't like to concentrate on how she looks for a long time.
Rita mostly wears nice skirts and long-sleeved shirts, because she doesn't really care about looking special or different from other people. Sometimes, though, she wears torn jeans to look more like her elder sister. Her hair is almost never braided, because it looks thicker and longer when it hangs loose.
Personality:
Nobody will ever understand, how hard it is to live with a permanent sense of guilt inside your heart. This feeling has been chasing Rita since she was born. No one ever accused her of it, but she keeps thinking she was the reason of her mother's death. It makes her life a lot more miserable, than it could have been.
Rita is a girl without a mother. There's no changing it, it's her fate. Daniel is a good father, but he can't be both parents at the same time. She always wondered, what it would be like to have a loving mummy. Rita can't even remember Lilian, but she tries to imagine, how she looked, talked and smiled. She spends hours dreaming of meeting her mother and wants her mum to be proud of her. That is why she often tries to copy her sister's look and behaviour. People say that Poppy looks more like Lilian.
However, she never succeeds. Rita had always known she could never be exactly like her elder sister. She is not as soft, and gentle, as Poppy has always been, in fact, she is quite the opposite. She is kind deep inside, but she can never stand anyone trying to tease her or her sister. She is sure she can protect herself and her family. Rita never fought much, but she's good at destroying bullies with sarcastic comments. Sometimes, when the circumstances require fighting, she also doesn't want to give up. Rita wishes she could be more like Poppy, but it's imposible. Poppy talks a lot and Rita can't do the same. She doesn't like opening up to anybody, prefers to be quiet and studies most of the time. Home is the only place where she talks more than in other places. Rita doesn't mind making a few friends, though, but most of those relationships are not long-lasting.
History:
History:
Rita Winters was born in District 12, in the lowest district that ever existed. There's District thirteen, of course, but it doesn't count. She was born in September, the first month of the autumn. She doesn't like this month, because it often rains on her birthday and the day itself seems like a nightmare to her. It's not a day, when she appeared in her family, it's the day her mother died.
Still, Rita was born somehow and has been living a normal life since then. Her dad played an important role in her life and always was the best father on Earth. When she was little, he often told her bedtime stories, fed her and played with her. Poppy is also the best sister she could ever imagine, sweet, caring, and loving.
When Rita was three years old, she wanted to be a doctor after growing up, and it took her father a lot of time and effort to explain, that she only can work in the mines, or in the bakery, like her mother. Rita kept dreaming about moving to district six and learning to heal people. But now she understands it's not going to happen. She will always stay in twelve and live there. And so will her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Other: Rita likes wearing hats, because ... just because she likes them.
