1600M MILE

Welcome to the 1600M race of the third Panem Olympic Games! The track and field complex is located within the Olympic Arena, with stands for spectators traveling from Districts One, Two, Four, and the Capitol to watch the competitors. Television cameras are set up around as well, to broadcast the event to anyone staying home as well as to the other districts who aren't as lucky and competent as you all! Please be sure you stretch and warm up with your coaches before you're called to the starting block, and remember, make your district proud!

The execution of this event is simple. Feel free to roleplay your character on the starting blocks and running, and then paste the code [*dice=12000+27000] without the asterisks into your post and roll, as you would with a Hunger Games die. This will result in a five-digit number that will correspond to a time, which is read with a decimal point separating the first three and the last two digits (e.g. 27000 is read as 270.00 seconds) This will be converted to minutes.

The competitor with the lowest time wins this event. Times for this event will be continually updated on this thread; however, the overall decathlon standings will be updated on a separate thread.

After you have rolled, feel free to edit your post with your character's reaction to each throw if you so desire, but please keep it to one post rather than multiple.

There is NO POSTING ORDER; you may post your throws whenever you please. Keep in mind that this event must be wrapped up by the end of the Olympics Day.

Spear loved going for a good run. It gave him a rush of adrenaline that coursed through his veins. After finishing his stretches, he took his place in the starting spot for the race. Looking his opponents over quickly before the race began, the blond haired boy realized that he didn't recognize any of them. This made him more determined to win, however, as he hated to lose, especially to strangers. He also wanted to win a medal before his sister, Charm, did. Losing to her would certainly mean she would tease him about it later on.

The boy ran as fast as he could when the signal sounded. He had good endurance, so he expected it to go rather well.

Odysseus Eighteen | Male | District Two

So far running hasn't been on his side, yet Odysseus refused to give up. Today was a new day. A new chance to prove himself worthy of residing in district two. Every hair stood on end as he looked around listening to the chants of the crowd. The cheering. Everything. At the start of the Olympics, it was music to his ears. Now it was nothing more than the constant reminder that he wasn't good enough. His eyes locked on the white lines of the track realizing within a few moments they'd become his best friend as he ran four laps around the long, grueling track as the sun scorched the hairs on his body.

He turned, looking in every direction before taking his place at the starting line. He hoped his legs would come into play as he moved himself forward. His height was the only thing working for him, and hopefully this time it would pay off. Shifting his weight back and forth, Odysseus allowed himself a chance to relax his muscles, but the moment the gun sound, he took off. Not too fast, but not slow enough to completely fall behind.

Aloes Lumiere

I was stretching my legs, preparing for the next and the longest run, with my heart thumping wildly in my chest. I could feel the warmth of excitement flow through my veins and smiled at everything around. This was the event, where I finally got a chance to test my endurance, which I always considered my strongest point. And I also loved the whole world this morning because I could go home soon. Surprisingly enough, I miss my district and my house already.

I hear the gun and race as fast as I can. With the wind blowing in my face and my soul singing merrily, life has become as perfect as it could ever be.
