how to deal with my crappy computer sitch

Hey everyone, it's moon(stone) here. I currently am using only an iPad and terrible library computers, which I can only access for a few minutes at a time. I used to not need a laptop because I could do everything on my iPad that I needed to do for school, but this is not the case any more. 

I see all of you with your beautiful tables and gifs in your signatures and incredibly lovely spaced character bios. It is evident in order to maintain the aesthetic ^tm I have to learn to code. Would anyone be willing to help me learn to use the coding system (which I'm p sure might be HTML)? If I have to be on these awful library computers, so be it.

Yo what up, Pogue here. As a fellow person who hasn't learned how to code (going on my third year on the site), I also should probably learn at some point. Anyways, there's numerous guides found in the tutoring board, namely Lalia's and Anzie's. For later on, Anzie also has a tutorial for more advanced tables, here.

I know it seems tedious, but following the guides and relying on your fellow members is a fairly concrete way to learn. And trust me, I feel your pain with the mobile issue, I was a mobile RPer for like a year and a half before I made the jump to laptop. I know it isn't much help, but when someone would make me a table, I would save the entire thing in my notes app. Then, I'd write my bio/post (manually entering italics, bolds, stuff like that), and then just post it into the table in my notes then onto the site. It definitely isn't the perfect method (far from it), but that's how I went about it.

Also bumming tables off of people is an option, but get ready to grovel (maybe). Good luck Moon ily

Honestly if you want to learn HTML, that's also a perfectly acceptable starting point. Not all HTML tags are available to UBBC, but the most common ones are - they're just wrapped by square brackets as opposed to triangle brackets. I think a good starting point can be codecademy, but if you find some other tutorial you like, go for that.

However, let us know if you're struggling with the table guides - we're always willing to help ^^
