Your voice, loud and strong, rings clear across the road, yet the girl on the receiving end - no stranger to the verbal jousts - simply rolls her eyes in response.

Taking that as a victory, a shit-eating grin spreads out across your face. It's a dance that's repeated itself on occasion, sometimes with others, but usually with that girl in particular, for she tends to head into town around the same time you're returning home.

Sure, your families might be at war, but you see no reason to take it any further than call-outs and the occasional tease. Fighting might be one of your main interests, but war is another thing entirely.

That doesn't mean you disagree with your family, per say. Everyone has their feuds every now and then, and even though this one has been going on for longer than most doesn't change the fact that they are your family, blood related or no.

After all, they did take you in and raise you as their own, even if you look nothing like them. And if that doesn't make them family, then you don't know what does.
