Slowly but surely, when the night breeze trails his fingers down my skin and the conversations between cars reach my sense of hearing,

I become satisfied.

Even without fingers pressing down on flower petals and wrapping them around my head and wrists. Even without an unreal wind whispering me thoughts of peace and purity as it tucks my hair behind my ear. Even without spending time stowed away in my own universe, it's not just my volcanic soul that's kept at bay now.

The stars across my cheeks burn just as bright as the ones in the sky. The moons above them become wide with wonder. The clouds below them both are white as pure as the world I constantly escape to.

I've found comfort in the galaxy of beauty spread out over us, and the galaxy alone.

A sea of life, not from creatures which break the surface or lurk deep within the waters, but from

light.

Light which flows with it, spilling over one another and beating with brightness like our calendar-marked hearts with blood until we reach the last day and, consequently, the last drop.

For the first time since as long as I can remember...

...I'm happy.

I pay another visit to it all when the sun steps off his stage for their act to follow, and though I usually stumble upon another when I do, I don't even make an effort to find if once again I'm not alone as I move straight to the balcony and lay my fingertips against its cold edge, close but not in contact with the field that prevents us from acting out certain ideas.

I sigh, and just stare like I would towards a lover.

It truly is a beautiful sight.
