Ah, welcome my good sir, to the Black Arrow! Please, please come in, come away from the cold, it's nice and warm in here. Put your feet up and have a drink, I'm sure Mr Jackson would be pleased to help you find something you like. Looking for some fun? The poker tables are over there in the corner, my dear. Oh yes, you've noticed my girls! Beautiful dancers, aren't they? When they're finished, I'm sure one would love to spend some time with you. You may...find something you like with them too. Please, do settle down for a while, we're open all night.
-Miss Allison
"The Black Arrow. That's my home now. A small pub, tucked away snug in an alley, windows filled with the warm light of fire and the shadows of the dancers. Laughter and shouting as girls spin their spidery silk around the men who come to play poker. The giggles and chatter in the morning as we count our gold coins and shove the boys out onto the street, stumbling home. They never remember anything, and they always come back. Mr Jackson, our lovely bartender, is a professional when it comes to alcohol and spirits. He keeps their glasses full till morning and reassures us that no one will remember the cheating and the lying. All they will ever remember is the fun and the girls and oh the kisses."
-from the history of Rosaline Collet
Characters
Miss Allison -- 40+ -- pub owner --- played by
The owner of The Black Arrow, Miss Allison has been taking girls off the streets and turning them into beautiful young dancers since she was thirty years old. She is not a mother to them, but she is the closest that anyone will get to ever having one. Most of the girls she takes are orphans who haven't had a home in months, sometimes years. She takes them in and trains them both as dancers and the most deceitful conwomen the district has ever seen. She is a master at her art, a fair judge, and a harsh punisher. She is clear about her rules and expects her girls to follow them to the letter. They are the queens of the chessboard, and she is their king.
Nicholas Jackson -- 18+ -- bartender -- played by
Known to most of the girls as Nic, this boy has been running the bar for about a year at this point. He is Miss Allison's nephew, and quite the charmer, although he's more of a brother to the girls than anything else. They call him Nikki to tease him, and in return he'll beat all of them at their own games of poker and gambling. Where he learned it? Miss Allison, of course. His parents died when he was very young, and he's lived with her ever since he was five. Thanks to all the extra time he's had with her, he's a professional when it comes to her tricks and scams. When the dancers come out, his only job is to keep the men happy and drinking. Anything to help the girls slip hands into pockets and slide cards under their wrists and come out with the upper hand.
Rosaline Collet -- 18 -- dancer -- played by Solo
A favorite among the men who come to The Black Arrow, it is not uncommon to hear requests of "Could I see Miss Collet for a moment?" or "Is Miss Collet around by any chance?" I skilled dancer and a charming young woman, Miss Collet is a spider disguised as a butterfly, spinning a web of lies around the men who come to see her. She has a silver tongue, a gentle touch, and a merry laugh for anyone who will listen. Inside, however, she is sharp and shrewd, more manipulative and deceitful than many of the girls at the pub. She is out to keep herself alive, and she doesn't hesitate to use even her co-workers for her own gain.

Application
Dancers are unlimited, if you think of another type of character, let me know. All the dancers will be young women who Miss Allison took in off the streets and trained to dance, gamble, and lie. They're all clever and manipulative with the men who come to the bar, but most of them treat each other like sisters, a close-knit family that's meant to protect each other. They respect Miss Allison and generally treat Mr Jackson well, and in the morning, the eat and laugh over their spoils of the night and spend it however they wish. (After, of course, they give half of it to Miss Allison.)Your Name:
