Two Bodies : One Heart
Chaos
O'Hana
How much silence can one possibly take? The darkness of night dances down upon us, and the gentle waves of the pool have settled down to a hush as well. The chilled tiles of the wall and floor have stiffened my bones to an ache, yet still I do not budge from my sitting position near my Brother. Even my vision scarcely alters it’s stare against the glistening water’s surface, only to occasionally glance over to him. Before this our voices never paused from speaking to one another, even during the most horrific occasions. This sadistic Game has changed all of the O’Hana, and even worse then our Parents ever could.
The anthem ritual plays as our only distraction. That beautiful face, I viciously shattered within my own two palms, occupies the projection above us. My eyes are unable to avert from the grim concluding image I caused to be. Dryness irritates my view, yet still I do not budge. Numbness continues to contort my internal digestion, and solely sarcastic humor can facade such. Within the absence of noise, the truth rings for me to simply glare upon. The picture vanishes long before I even realize such, as his illustration will always plaster my knowledge in a curse of a reminder.
Previous words, from the breathtaking Ivar, sing an un-caroled tune as if he were still here. “Have you come to break my skull like the two boys from earlier?” He sounded as if he weren’t the creator of one of those deaths. My sight searches across the room as though he has reentered to repeat himself. Securely it’s purely Lightning, I, and quietness occupying this territory.
“Just your heart. I find a mental kill can be just as powerful.” My tongue lashed at him then, while it still feels like my tone is echoing against the water. Still it’s only breaths bouncing against the nothing.
'Better protect your Brother before someone breaks his’ physically.' Ivar’s sinister grin replaces the image of Anton within my mind. Swiftly my eyes flash over to Lightning for reassurance, devastation residing amongst my irises.
Eyelids flutter in a gentle snooze, his chest continuing to rise and fall in a satisfying pattern. My fingers weave through his delicate blonde locks; my pupils finally allow to be flooded by salty liquid, though refute any droplets from collapsing. “I love you baby Brother. I’m sorry I’m so overly protective.” My words soothe his slumbering frame. He’s stronger then me now, though I can never accept of such. “You could have made it through this Game yourself. You're the smartest person I know. I just… I couldn’t… You’ll understand in the years to come. Or maybe you already do.” Focus ventures back to the pool’s surface, hypnotized by it’s allusion and my exhaustion.
The night drifts in uncoordinated steps. Occasionally I find myself flickering off, but never for long. Sleep is awaiting for me within death, there’s no pointing in wallowing in it now. Plus Lightning will most likely force me to snooze tomorrow, shifting watches, though it’s him that’ll need the energy to fight to the end. Once the Sun begins reappearing however, I discover myself softly-annoyingly poking him to be awake - just as he did to me the morning he wanted me to rejoin the institution of school a month back.
“It’s a new day Lightning, Sunrise.” We always did relish in the beauty of such. A grin envelopes across my lips, hoping this’ll be a new start for us as well. But of course it won’t be one of peace, as I immediately hear a disturbance within a hallway outside of the pool room. “And it sounds like a new brawl as well. Let’s go try out our new weapons, and get us a step closer to victory?” Of course I don’t dare say solely him. But varies new aspects, this should be entertaining.
Limbs stretch from the freedom of being in the same position of hours on end. And with approval from my Brother, I journey towards the distant patters. The door creaks open our entrance, while a threat doesn’t instantly linger upon us. Years of training carry our feet in mute volume. My magically-appearing from a drawing Weapon bounces in hungry anticipation. And around another corner, two from other Career Districts welcome us into the reality of the Game.
Their names escape me, while their gorgeous figures could do no such thing. Lucious dark locks from the Female matches her divine facial structures so. Her nose rests a tiny out of place -just as Lightning’s now does- though it does not steal from her overall allure. Length towers the Male, while an unexplainable luminous aroma seems to radiate from his slight pale complexion. He’s dazzling - they both are. But unfortunately, they’re also both in the way of my Brother making it home.
“You two are from Career Districts, no? And must be Careers if so, because why else volunteer?” My smirks widens in preparation. “A Career fight though, that sounds exciting.” And without patients for an answer, I immediately stampede to proceed the start.
