Tulia Weitz
Female | 16 | District 9
If you ever happen to come across the grain fields that Tulia Weitz works in, you most likely will never find her. A girl cursed with a small, underdeveloped body and an equally easily overlooked small stature, Tulia manages to blend in perfectly with her home grain fields thanks to her long, burnt blonde hair. If you do by chance manage to get a glimpse of her, the first thing that will strike you about her face is her large brown doe-eyes framed by her small pixie nose and ever-present smile. For such a child-like looking girl, it would probably surprise you to find out that she's well into her later teenage years although that is which something Tulia is more than happy to remind people about as she hates the way she is sometimes treated like a child.
To compensate for her smaller size, Tulia has put in a considerable amount of time working in the name of getting stronger and changing her image. If you look behind her facial features and size, you'll see she's a rather muscular thing though it's mostly hidden under baggy clothing. Tulia, priding herself on being quite the working girl, never much bothered with looks thus she wears oversized men's clothing and leaving her hair to look rather unkempt. Still, you would be hard pressed not to at least thinks a slightly cute person.

To match her odd looks, Tulia's personailty can indeed also be called odd. The first thing you would note about Tulia through talking with her is her manner of speech, which consists of all sorts of combined words, excalamations and general oddness. If you can get past the 'bumpkin'-ness of her speech, you'll find a rather friendly girl who navigates through her life using her humor and skill at conversation. Tulia is at her happiest when she is just talking with and being around people she considers friends, although sadly she tends not to have many outside of her siblings. Her odd manner of speech and openness tends to turn off most people before they even get to know her, yet still she tries her hardest.
While Tulia generally gets by how she reads people and interacts with them, her weakness lies in any sort of advanced intelligence. As Tulia's family tends to put more focus on the value of working hard and being kind more than being smart, Tulia found herself focussing on things other than her school work. Try as she might, Tulia's natural nature is that of a ditz. Besides its not as if the schooling in District 9 was great anyways, leaving Tulia currently with rather poor writing and mathmatical skills. While she may not show it, Tulia is deeply insecure about her intelligence and tries to compensate for it in any way she can.
Tulia's other terrible insecurity lies in her childish ways, as she can't help but compare herself to her much more mature older siblings. Her childish true nature can espeically be seen when faced with interpersonal conflict as she is prone to being stubborn and angry beyond what the situtation calls for. Almost right after any conflict, Tulia finds herself regretting the irreversiable things she said and even after any kind of resolution, she contuines to beat herself up for it. This can lead her to doing even more reckless things, making her a walking ball of occasional self-loathing.
Spite her working life, Tulia finds it hard to even consider a life without her work and as a result, she feels guilty about being so complacent in her life. Torn between genuiely liking her small family working life and wanting to do something greater spite her ditzy nature. This reflects how she feels about the capital as well, inbetween not wanting to interupt her current life that the capitol provides and wanting to rise up to the unsure but appealing world free of them. This division between ideals has left Tulia rather conflicted and as such just pushes away any sort of critical thinking about morals or the future.

The life that bred this sort of odd girl is a rather simple one. Her parents were two simple farm workers who got together as teenagers and got married soon after to which they began to build a rather large family. Her parents raised her mostly with the assitance of her grandmother as they were working most of the time to provide for the family. With a latchkey kid sort of upbringing, Tulia craved attention from a young age, leading to her sort of extroverted ways in the present. Her grandmother was who she mostly conversed with as a child and gave Tulia her current sense of jusitice and kindness.
When Tulia grew a little older, her grandmother started becoming sick and instead, her older siblings began talking over in the more guardianship role. While her grandmother was more about wisedom and typical parenting, her siblings were always more fun with her and in way her siblings became her greatest friends. Which is convienant as Tulia's odd nature left her rather friendless. Her days began to shift from the lonely girl failing her classes and floating through life to still floating through life but with more connections and more purpose than previously as she began working in the fields with her siblings.
Though Tulia's life is rather carefree and simple, her own aimlessness gives her anxiety and leaves her wondering how on Earth she'll contuine beyond her normal daily life with her family as it is now.
