Evian Odin-Wells
There was once a boy who was born next to the water, from birth this boy was given a sliver spoon in his mouth. Perhaps it was some kind of destiny for him to grow selfish and spoiled as kids of wealth so often are. He was given the name Evian Odine-Wells, named after some old family friend or something of the sort, Evian never much cared for knowing where his name came from. To him it was just good enough for Evian to be Evian and not with some legacy behind it. It was just a name, so he thought.
His father was a luxury fisherman with his own boat and everything, catching lobsters and other various highly desired seafood for the capitol. It was indeed a job that made good money and with that money attracted many people, one of which being the Evian's mother. Essentially a trophy wife, she was a beautiful women born from the sea as if she was Aphrodite herself. Loving yet meek and a house wife through and trough, the perfect appearing family was completed with the birth of their son Evian.
Taking most of the looks of his mother, Evian was given yet again another upper hand at the game of life. His cocoa colored hair is complimented by absolutely piercing eyes that truly reflect his mothers like a small blue storm With a strong face and that a sort of done-up hairstyle typical of sliver spoon kids, his appearance is that of someone who cares perhaps too much about other people's opinions and judgement. It's a self consciousness that tends to manifest itself in a hatred of his eyes and nose, a feature inherited from his father.
Indeed, Evian and his father's relationship is distant at best. Away at sea for a majority of his days, when Evian's father did return home any celebrations would be cut short by father-son fights that saw the small housewife having to break it up. Evian spent most of his youth at distance from his parents, only really interacting with his mother for he felt so unaccepted in his own home. It's impossible to say if this bred Evian's rebellious, drifting nature or if he was like that all along, but if anything Evian is not one for dwelling on the why or how of a question.
Of course no one can go through life the way Evian was forever, that's why storms exist. Storm of the year, everyone said after the fact. It happened towards the end of the season too, Evian's father had a terrible fishing season that year and every day had to spent out on that boat to make up for it, even when it was risky. It was only days later that confirmation that the ship had been wrecked in the storm when pieces started coming up and first mate's body was found.
They never found his body, its pretty well reckoned that other sea creatures got to it first before anyone could take it back to shore. The funeral was very odd, or at least to Evian it did. None of it seemed real, for a couple of days Evian thought it some kind of act his parents were on to scare him straight. It wasn't until the funeral that it all become real and his father finally became truly dead in his eyes. Evian never cried over the death of his father, not out of a lack of emotion though. The grief hit him in smaller ways, it was Evian looking out at the docks and wondering how his father was doing before remembering that his father was dead. It was seeing strangers arguing and getting strangely emotional and reminiscence about it.
One can't grieve forever though and now without a primary provider, the sliver spoon Evian had almost his entire life was pulled out of his mouth. With a fair bit of knowledge about the fishing industry learned from his father and some luck, Evian was able to find a position on a fishing ship thanks to the captain having been friends with his father. Slowly but surely Evian found himself rather liking this new, strange life.
Now instead of the life of teenage rebellion, Evian now is a quieter person trying to learn more about just how fit in better with this new world. Even his appearance has changed from before, once a very manicured person is now a water soaked solar tanned rough worker who can't care for the things he once did. His world was rather closed off before, as he used to prefer wild quick encounters instead of any kind of connection with anyone, so now he's left with some of the only people he really knows being the crew of ship he works on and his mother.
Evian tried not to show sadness after his father's death and that repression shows itself in the quiet and almost depressed person he is now. As far as he is concerned, the only thing in his life that he cares about now is his work and is interest in the wild life of his past just faded away out of necessity. Still though that risk taking boy is still in there, just hidden through insecurity and fear.
Evian is still piecing together who he wants this new version of himself to be. He's unsure of himself and what he wants, but deep down he just wants the security that was taken away from him, but still he can't deny the chance he now has. With this new life for him comes the chance to do something with it and the sea's pull towards him is strong, giving him a fight between wanting a secure life and the life of risk he always followed well.
