The Bachelor

The Bachelorette was a major success. Ratings were through the roof, the amount of money thrown around the event was outrageous, and after the series conclusion, the citizens of Panem already seemed eager for the next installment. But who could possibly keep the attention of the Capitolites, thrive in the spotlight, and create just as much drama and intrigue as Miss Katelyn Persimmon?

A few arguments are being thrown around the table—"Isn't he too young? And what's the point of tying him down so early? Shouldn't this be held in the Capitol?"—but there really is no point in fighting this one. He's the best candidate hands down and moving this into the District's keeps the citizens here on their toes. A young bachelor and all the young and beautiful women in District One, a far-away land they've never travelled to.  It'll easily keep their attention.

"The bigger problem here is getting girls to participate." I speak up, legs crossed and arms folded. With Capitol citizens it's much more enticing, offering up a Victor for marriage through a reality TV show where they can gain fortune and fame. It's less likely that women from the districts would throw themselves at this opportunity as flagrantly. Even if the tabloids suggest otherwise.

Someone chuckles across the table—"So we make a few."—and nearly everyone agrees with the statement. In truth, it's already what I had been thinking. I simply needed he confirmation to move forward.

"That's settled then," I say, standing from my swivel chair with a grin. One push of a button and my projector switches on, shades falling, and a long list of candidates appearing on the screen.

"Let's begin."

But anyway, hello and welcome! This plot will run quite similarly to The Bachelor, and will likely be written in a similar fashion to the way Charade wrote. EXCEPT this time it is set in District One AND restricted to characters who are at least 18 years of age. Understand that this plot is a quite rigorous and will require you to, y'know, actually thread.
