It may come as no surprise to you, dear reader, that I, Ex Oh Van Der Woodsen, designed today’s festive celebration tea. Is there anything better than a birthday party that coincides with the holidays? This occasion can only be one-upped by having one’s birthday in the arena. Too bad we can’t interview Heather Tenley about her experience!
Inside this glittery card, you’ll find your seating assignment, as well as a detailed menu. If you have any dietary restrictions, please leave immediately as we’ve already prepared everything.
Once you pass under the white lily arch, you’ll be dazzled by the ivory and lavender streamers and shining chandeliers. We’ve scoured the Capitol for the finest china (nothing with gilding, of course, President Snow can’t spare his private collection after all!). You may recognize the soft linen, delicate pastries and fragrant teas from your very own home district! Don’t worry, it wasn’t very much trouble to fetch it all.
The tables are of course named after President Snow’s favorite flowers. You’ll be surprised to learn he likes flora other than white roses! Lilies, gardenia, oleander, and many more varieties that I’m sure only Potato Earnest could identify.
Once you’ve found your place, do strike up a conversation with your seatmates. I’m sure no one will be eavesdropping at all – not a formal tea! But if you happen to fall in love or scald your neighbor with hot tea, please take a photograph. For posterity.
