She’d spent almost the entire journey glued to the window. Even through the night, even with beyond the protests of her heavy body, she watched. It was all too magical. This – this wasn’t supposed to be the life the Capitolites lives. She had thought they suffered under their own yokes. But from the moment the train departed Eleven, Navya Rhodes had discovered nothing but magic.

A little snow even fell over the mountains. She had wanted to reach through the window and taste it.

But instead she’d held fast to Harbinger and passed the hours dreaming. She changed as soon as their arrival was announced and came out of their dressing room with her lips pursed. “Doesn’t fit like it used to,” she admitted to her husband. A quick kiss later, she locked their hands together and stepped out of the train and into the roaring crowd. She smiled, waved, and then let her hand fall to her still distended stomach. It would not be much longer that she could hide this child, but for now, it belonged only to her and Harbinger.
