I've always been a thief. I suppose that comes with living on the streets. I keep my findings stashed in a back alleyway of District Six, and I gradually sell them for cash to get by. Jewelry and watches are the most common things for me to take from people, but on occasion, I'll even swipe an entire wallet, just to test my luck and see what happens to be inside. Sometimes I score big, and other times the wallet itself is worth more than the cash within.

Today was no different than any other day. I'd be using my skills of thievery that I'd grown up with to steal a thing or two to sell. I meandered through crowds, looking for the perfect target. I needed to find someone that would likely have something of at least a little bit of value on them and take it while they weren't paying attention. It didn't take long for me to locate my ideal target.

It was a boy around my age, walking down the street but not paying all that much attention. He would be the one who I'd try to take something from. I approached him from behind, about to swipe his wallet, but stopped midway through. Had he noticed me?
