A pile of muffins stacked in front of her plate, her eyes on the healthier food, but shying away. Every game, even the most competitive ones, needed a little break once in a while. Instinctively as she grabbed another muffin her eyes looked behind her to make sure that her father wasn't looming over her to remind her that if she ever wanted to be a victor she should put the sugar down. She sighs inwardly, reaching one hand back out to place the muffin down.

Only a few days left until she had her crown. After that, she can eat whatever she wants.

She moves a little ways down the aisle with her plate, spooning roasted vegetables seasoned with some orange sauce onto her plate. Sure, it's smell danced in her nose and made her mouth water, but it wasn't the same. She grabbed an apple a bit farther down and a cup of water before making her way towards the seats.

It was useless talking to the people she would kill soon enough, but her eyes settled on one boy alone at a table. She grins inwardly to herself as she makes her way over to him and she sets her plate down across from him.

"Hey," she says with a wide smile, "You seem a bit sweeter than my plate, what's your name."

She settles down into the seat, her green eyes resting on the boy as she leans her elbows and rests her head on her hands.

You sigh, staring as your plate full of food and twirling your metal fork between your fingers. You figured it would make sense to stock up on carbs, you vaguely remember the notation your teachers shoved down your throat; something about carbs providing more energy. So you filled your plate with rice for the nutritional value and meat because you could.

You needed as much energy as possible; gutting the first person in your way would be tiring.

You've learned to appreciate the basic things in life, food being a prime example.

You're silently grateful to be eating, silently grateful that you're eating at all. Happy that you're no longer counting your ribs and withering with the sanity of your parents.

A new voice breaks you from your train of thought and you look up to find blonde hair and a smiling face hovering above you. You recognize her as from One, that fuckwit Isaac's district partner. Not boring, pleasing appearance.

You let the thought fester.

"Aeson, from Six," you tell her simply, twirling the fork between your fingers. "And you are?"

She props her head up on one hand as she looks at the boy. He wasn't ugly, she thought. In fact, he was a bit better looking than some of the others she had noticed during her time in the capitol. Her eyes rest on the fork he twirls between his fingers as he begins to speak.

"Aeson, from Six, and you are?" He says simply, as if they weren't about to try killing each other soon enough.

Aeson, she lets the name linger in her thoughts as she inspects him further. His plate of food wasn't too picturesque, but there was no harm in that. She vaguely remembers seeing his name appear as she replayed readings on the train's tv on her way to the training station, or maybe she had seen him talking to Isaac at some point.

She places her fork down on her plate; The food could wait for a little while.

"Honestly, I'm not too sure we're on a first name basis yet, Aeson." She says teasingly with a grin, leaning forwards, her bright green eyes moving from his twirling fork to focus on his eyes as thoughts dance through her mind. "Want to tell me a bit more about yourself besides you being from six?"
