Throwing in the towel(s) [Dymas; D4m; Oneshot]

Dymas Nyx District 4 "District one." "District two and seven." "And district six." Four tributes tried to have their way with me, along with some other girl to whom I never even noticed her face. She was just a blur to me and not all that important in the long run. It was to be expected that the lower districts would try to take me away from this earthly plain, but my fellow careers? The other two that come from districts that are favorites of the capitols? I understand that the seven girl didn't mean to run into me, but that boy - that other career boy that tried to hurt me as if I was standing in his way to victory, meant to cause harm. He tried, I'll admit. I showed him who I was. I dodged his attack, making him the laughing stock of his district because he couldn't hit a moving target. I guess it really don't matter where you come from. If you are seen as a threat, then you are going to be attacked. Maybe my fellow careers saw something else in that four I received. Perhaps they assumed I held back when I could have earned a higher number, scaring them? Come on. You did your best, it just wasn't what they wanted. They don't know that though. I hold my head up high, running as far as I could to get away from that chaos behind me. Without me there, they had to find new targets. They wouldn't be using me for a pin cushion anymore. I have no relation to any of them, barely even took notice of any except that Aeson guy. He was the only one I dealt with during training. He is on my radar. Him and the rest of these tributes - no more fun loving Dymas from here on out. "Watch your back, Aeson. I'll be right there." I huff as the icy air around me began to deplete my lungs into a frozen mess. I cough, sputtering as the infectious air made my lungs hurt. I'm not used to this, not in the least. I was born into the district where salty sea air coats my lungs and dances on my skin. Where the warm waves would play with my hair and its waters would heal my wounds and ease my mind. There's non of that here, unfortunately. Here? "It's just a fucking winter hell-land." I groan. I slow to a moderate pace, my feet kicking up snow all the while. "Whoever likes snow is fucking crazy." I curse, without the fear of my mothers swatting my ears for such language. Without them here, I'm sure that my freedom will only be short lived. I begin to wonder, as the stale cold air picks up a different scent all together. Almost like a warm moist aroma catches my senses. Curiosity always kills me, it's just who I am though. I follow the trail. There's something dangerous about the comfort I am being drawn to, but would I sooner allow the tributes to cast me into damnation or whatever beauty that the capitol might captivate me with? "I'm all yours. Drown me with your pleasures." My voice is taunting, whispered versions of a tone I once would never lower. Steam rises from several areas in front of me in a matter of moments. Beautiful steam of a hot spring that one would most certainly walk away from in light of the current position, has me even more attentive to it. Almost like a kid to chocolate, I cross slowly, edging my way over to the nearest bath and bend. My fingers reach into the water first, feeling the heat. It taunts me so much. Bath towels lay beside each little pool of hot steamy goodness. I shake my head at the tempting troubled waters. "Not today Satan." I call out and my fingers rest upon the terry cloth towels that one would want to use after such a luxurious bath. Maybe, if the tributes were stupid enough to strip down and soak into the waters, they would most certainly be asking for a death wish. Hyperthermia would set in so fast after getting out, not to mention burning their delicate skin without knowing how hot it really was. Instead, I look to each pool and each place setting of the towels. "I'm doing you a favor, dear tributes. Because each and every one of you deserve to fight me one on one. Not to die of stupid mistakes. That's my job. Not yours." And with each pool that I pass, the towels are dropped into the sweltering waters, floating for fun as I take cover behind one of the last pools in the line. "I'm safe Angel." I give a thumbs up, unsure if that will give him any sign of my well being. "Not doing too bad. A few bruises." I talk below a whisper and look to my arms. The purple hues starting to shine through already, and the bump on the back of my head twinging just slightly. None of that mattered the moment a tinkering noise caught my attention. My vision settled to the sky, wondering what that could symbol until I noticed the parachute, well rounded and quite large for anything I could have done to deserve it. It landed peacefully in the snow, the chute gliding down to the ground, covering it and camouflaging it from my sights if I hadn't known it was there. A grin appeared on my lips and I surveyed the area before whisking it into my arms and settling back to the backside of the pool, concealed. Inside, I found a note that read: Takes courage to go alone. Care package to keep you safe. Another thumbs up gave away my appreciative thanks as I surveyed the contents. Now all I had to do was stay alive. I could handle that.

Dymas Nyx District 4 The chill surrounds my bones. The frigid temperatures tingle my fingers as I try to keep them warm inside my armpits. The elation of the gifts was more then I could be happy for and it warmed me for a while but as I sit beside the tempting sauna just behind me, I really want to tempt fate even more. My mind is yearning for the heat and to soak up the steamy goodness, but If I adapt to the water as warm as it is, then surely I'll succumb to the winter queen's doom. She is the one who wants to let all good men drown in a sea of snow and forever keep her hellish winterland. Not I. I had put on the ski goggles long ago when I first got them, hoping to use them as a source of false warmth. It worked for a while but it only lasted so long. Instead, I found another source of zen. Just like sitting on my paddleboard at night, underneath the moons glow I found solace in the calm and allowed myself to be completely calm. A type of tranquility that let everything else slip away. A quienscent mind and body that gave me the utmost control over my surroundings. This place was hell frozen over, but peaceful for now. I began to wonder about the rest of the tributes. There had been at least three if not four canons to sound off. My heart was yearning for Angel and it doesn't matter how old someone is, I wanted my moms. I wanted then around. I needed advice and more training. I lacked the ability to withstand the solitude that was forced upon me by the lack of allies. It's for the best. I know in the long run, allying with someone would only get me or the other one killed in the end. Betrayal was so common when it came to the games and sleeping soundly with another heartbeat just couldn't happen without fear. Alone? "There is tranquility." Solitude? "Nothing but harmony." My mind slipped to Eva. How was she fairing? She was so fragile, I had learned. For her to be here, she'd definatey needed to be careful or risk a terrible injury. Slowly, my mind began to display the other tributes I had come into contact with during the training center. A slideshow of faces spun around and around. Bella. Mercy. Raven. The others were a blur. I could only hope that day two would bring peace instead of pain, but I would surely hope to meet with faces I never associated with.
