Name: Griffin Tucker
Gender: Male
Age: 24
District: Wanderer
Appearance:The one word that very clearly describes Griffin Tucker's appearance is messy. The hair that sits on his head was not cut in any particular style, although he does trim it every once in a while. It hangs limply and wildly on his head, and falls right down to before his eyes, where it usually gets in the way. He has never had it dyed, leaving it a plain, dark shade of brown, almost appearing black.
His eyes are precisely the same color, deep and brown, usually hiding what he's actually thinking. They're large and round, and always seem to look right through you when he turns his attention to you. He always looks someone in the eyes when he is speaking to them, having been taught that during his many years of Career training in District Two. He was taught that to look away from someone's gaze for any reason in different situations was weakness, and that it would surely get him killed if he were in a dangerous situation.
The shape of his face is nothing perfect, though he could be described as handsome. His forehead is a bit too wide, his nose too large, his cheekbones too prominent. He isn't ugly, but he's not amazingly handsome either. The only thing that could be described as captivating about him are his eyes. Along with the obviousness of that trait, there are his several small scars. They're not visible from too far away, though if you get close to him you'll find that he has small scars riddled all over his body form years of Career training.
Griffin is really not the kind of person who values personal hygiene greatly. His face is almost always covered with an amount of hair, although not too much that it becomes a bother. His face is usually spotted in some kind of dirt or grime from hanging around outside for extended periods of time. He washes every few days, but little enough that most people in District Two frown upon him, while most of them wash twice a day at least, because of their jobs. This trait tends to drive people away if they're not particularly used to uncleanly people around them.
However, his years of Career training did not go to waste. Along with many skills that he learned, his body is very physically strong and muscled. He has stayed fit throughout his whole life. He can sprint fast, run long distances, lift heavy things, along with many other athletic abilities that benefit from the training, although he never was chosen for the Hunger Games nor did he choose to volunteer because of his hatred for them.
Personality:
Although he doesn't always use it, Griffin's Career training was much more than just physical skills. Along with his athletic ability, he learned how to act around people, how to impress them, what to say. He was, and still is, very good at persuasion. He learned to speak to almost anyone and impress them, but he seldom uses it anymore. He hated training to be a Career, and although he likes being strong, he hates manipulating people unless it is of complete importance.
Along with that, Griffin has difficulty standing up and voicing his opinions. His parents always tried to force the idea into his mind, but he's not one to speak if he doesn't need to. Perhaps this is a good thing, for if he spoke his mind constantly he would end up in a great amount of trouble. Even so, this does detract from the leader image that he is supposedly attempting to project. He doesn't yell, he isn't forceful, and at any given time it might seem that he's only a random person in the background instead of an actual leader.
He's usually a more quiet person, and he has few friends. He keeps to himself a lot, but he can be talkative when he forces himself to be. Every once in a while he'll tend to randomly start talking to some person that he doesn't even know. He likes to make random jokes that aren't always funny, but he usually laughs anyways. Most people seem to find him slightly crazy, though entertaining depending on his mood.
While Griffin doesn't often show his prouder side, there are times when he feels superior to others. Growing up with the idea drilled into his head that he is far better than everyone else, he was never quite able to rid his mind of this idea. Although it isn't extreme, there are times when it gets him into trouble, especially being the leader of the Uprising. There are times when he believes himself better than all the rest of them, though he'll immediately shut those thoughts out of his mind and attempt to forget about them.
There was never a time in his life when Griffin was emotionally strong. Career training was a brutal and lonely thing, and it often took an extreme toll on his emotions. He tends to take everything to heart that could possibly be hurtful to him, and over time this has led him to loathe himself quite a bit. Any sarcastic comment or slight insult will set him off, though instead of reacting angrily, he'll direct the problem at himself. More often than not, he truly feels that something is wrong with him. Despite the few instances of pride, he truly dislikes himself as a person.
History:
He was born in District 2 and has lived there ever since. One of his parents- his father, is a doctor. He's not the most elite of doctors, but they get by well enough anyways. It was Griffin's mother's income that really helped the family when he was growing up. She worked training kids to become Careers from a very early age, Griffin being one of those children.
He started training when he was just a few years old. Of course, he didn't handle actual weapons at the time, and the work was much lighter. All the kids his mother taught learned technique in the beginning; it was much safer that way. They all learned how to handle a bow and arrow, how to throw a rubber knife, a miniature spear, how to handle a sword, etc.
As he grew older, the training became more difficult. He learned how to handle real, large-scale weapons with precision, all kinds of them. Along with the weapon training, they would constantly work on their conditioning. Most of the days were spent lifting weights, running, and swimming. It was exhausting work, and he hated it, not that his parents cared. All that they saw when they looked at him was the image of him wearing the crown of a Victor, onstage for all Panem to see.
Of course, when he started focusing in on actually being in the Games, they worked on more tactical things as well. How to act, what to say, everything that could make the crowd love him. This was the part of his training that he hated the most. He couldn't stand the fact that he could manipulate what people thought of him so easily.
When he turned 19, he was finally able to become himself- whoever he was without his title as Career. The crazy, quiet, observant person that was Griffin. He stopped all of his training completely except for the exercising, which he kept out of habit. He hated the idea of manipulating people, and he hated more the idea of hurting innocent people with weapons. After all that training, there was nothing on earth that he hated more than the Capitol and their Games. Like most other people in the Districts, he desires completely that the Games be ended and that the evil in the Capitol is rid of. It is because of this that Griffin has become the leader of the Uprising and has moved away from his former home of District Two, though he still tends to wander from District to District when he has the time to.
