Daniel Decatur
Daniel walked into the training center where a few tributes had already marched into. Daniel had pointedly avoided his district partner. If he didn't know her then he wouldn't have to feel any remorse if she died... or if he killed her.
Decatur was wearing his token around his neck. It was something he had pieced together out of scraps he found around the District. It had been originally for his mother but hey, he was the one going to die. It was a gold color but really just painted metal. It had a small clock face in it that Daniel had nabbed from an antique shop. It used to work according to the man who owned the shop. Daniel had always planned to fix it one day but never got around to it. Now he wished he had.
Daniel took in the room. Around the walls were stations to help them get through the games. Daniel didn't know where to go first and stood by the door wondering where to go.
He spotted another tribute. He didn't know who it was but he started calculating his chances if he got into a fight with the boy.
He had dark hair and was skinny, like Daniel. He was a head shorter than Decatur but still tall.
Daniel inspected the way he carried himself when he walked, his posture, everything and came to the conclusion that he could take him. By the outside Daniel considered him to be someone to run into a fight angry. Decatur has done that before. It doesn't work.
Turning from the tribute, Daniel stood off the right off the door waiting for the other tributes to walk through. Possibly a tribute would walk through and just automatically prove themselves a good ally.
Daniel didn't think it worked like that but what choice did he have? He hated approaching people much less actually talk to them. Finding an alliance was probably going to be the hardest part of the games for Daniel Decatur.
