I am starting to see stars and moons
(it's an awful sham, but I follow suit)
This is how it ends, a courageous boom

He wasn’t quite the fan of meal times. An established pecking order seemed to develop with tributes that were trying on alliances; he’d not been the type to entertain himself with the notion and stayed on his own. It did however mean that tables became fault lines, and territories started to be carved across the mess hall. Though some would’ve said it was just in Saturn’s head, he knew well enough that as friendly as some of them might have been then, walls were being formed to protect one another.
No matter. He did better on his own his whole life. He’d been the strongest of any boys in his grade, always training on his own, rather than being held back. He’d not been distracted by the trappings of friendship so much as recognizing they were a means to an end. That, and he could pick and choose from amongst them who to love and who to leave behind. The reaping hadn’t been hard when he didn’t have more than a few that he left behind (thought Ben did linger on his mind, even now as he pulled a fruit tart from behind the sneeze guard protecting the desserts).
When he turned to face the lunch room, he stared off to the far left side, where a space had opened up. A single boy was alone – the one from six – and he contemplated whether or not he would make use of his time to eat. He wasn’t unhandsome. And from what he’d seen on his reaping video, he wasn’t much for small talk. And who knew? Saturn wasn’t about to turn down a chance to get to know him more… intimately, if the opportunity presented itself.
And so he took his metal tray across the way, and settled down across from Ronan. He dragged his seat hard across the floor to draw attention with an awful sound, and made sure to smile across at the boy.
“’Sup.” He grinned.
