P.K. Chu
male
sixteen
district three
fc is ji chang wook
not even p.k. knows what p.k. stands for
"What's your name?" they ask me again.
"P.K.!" I tell them once more.
"No, but like, what do the letters stand for?" they ask of me.
"Oh," I say, "You see, there's the trouble... I have no idea."
It's true, too. I have no idea what those letters that are my name, P.K., actually stand for. My parents abandoned me when I was just two years old, along with my older brother Rai and my younger sister Pi. The only information that the people at the orphanage were given about us were our names. They tried to ask Rai if he knew what P.K. stood for, since I was unaware of that answer at my young age, but he didn't know, either. Therefore, that's all I'm known as today. No matter how hard I try to remember what it actually stands for, I can't.(82nd PAT writing starts here)
I've always had a love for technology. I work a lot with electric circuits as a part of my job after school. Spending time in the labs and factories is something that a lot of people in District Three seem to hate. Personally, it's something that I love. I also like to build things. I improvise, creating something new out of old bits and pieces. I'll build anything from a cool looking ring made of wire, to a sharp knife made of scrap metal, to a neat little piece of technology. I've always been the creative type.
I would also consider myself to be an individual who if often full of curiosity. I'm intrigued by new things, as well as mysteries. If it's something that I don't quite understand, I want to learn more about it, rather than get frustrated over a lack of knowledge in the subject. I may even consider myself a bit of a detective in my own way, although not officially.(82nd PAT writing ends here)
Why do I consider myself a detective of sorts? Well, I'd say that's because I always want to get to the bottom of a problem, and will go to the lengths it takes to discover the answer to what's going on. For example, when a young boy was lost in the streets, I didn't give up until I helped him find his way home. Not only that, I made sure that I found out why he'd ended up off on his own so that it wouldn't end up happening again if it could be prevented.
Although, how good of a detective could I really be if I didn't know what my own initials stood for?
Helping others is in my nature. If I see someone who is hurt, I want to make them feel better. If there's anything I can do to assist those in need, I will do it. My friends say that I'm very helpful and kind. I've also been told that I'm strong-willed. I don't back down easily if someone is being hurtful, whether it be with their words or their actions. I stand up for others, as well as for myself. I may not look physically strong, but I can be when I need to be.
If I were to look in the mirror, I'd say that I'm rather average looking, at least, in my own opinion. I've been described by others as 'cute', but I don't see it myself. Perhaps that's because I've always wanted to just look average, or perhaps even a little bit intimidating to keep people who mean harm away from me. I didn't want to look cute. Although, I can't deny that my cheeky are often a bit rosy. Their red pigment doesn't seem to fade very often, as it's there when I'm working hard, when I'm embarrassed, when I'm happy, and when I'm feeling so many other emotions that it's pretty much a constant feature of my face.
I'm not the tallest person you'll ever meet, but I wouldn't consider myself to be short, either. At an average height and a healthy weight for my height, I'd at least say I'm satisfied with that part of the 'average' appearance I strive for. I dress rather casually, often in a t-shirt and jeans or cargo shorts. I especially love wearing cargo shorts so that I can keep lots of random bits and bobs in my pockets, as I love to fiddle with things, making my own little improvised inventions out of them. It also wouldn't be unusual to find me with some snacks in my pockets, since I get hungry and like to nibble on things here and there. Unfortunately, my favorite foods, which would be pretty much any type of fruit or berries, don't last very long in pockets. It sounds a bit strange, but I even like to roast my berries sometimes.
I still have a stain on the pocket of one of my pairs of shorts from raspberries that I tried to bring with me one day, just hoping that they would last until I got the chance to eat them. They didn't last...
I have a lot of friends, and I'm rather good at making friends, too. People like me, and for the most part, I like me, too. Of course, everyone has flaws, too, unfortunately, with some of mine being that I'm a little too energetic and have trouble focusing, which can bother people sometimes. I also am not too fond of the fact that my ears are a bit pointier than that of most people. Overall, though, I would say that I'm pretty happy with who I am as a person.
