cruise kealoha
MALE - 17 - District 4 - career
"BUILT LIKE A GREEK GOD"
Cruise is a good-looking guy, there's no lying about it. Tall and tan, with muscles that pop and brown eyes that look like caramel in the setting sunlight. He's a poster boy for his district, with sun-bleached shaggy brown hair which he neglects to keep brushes. Honestly, he doesn't pay much attention to his appearance because he knows he's naturally gifted with good looks, which he defiantly uses to his advantage. This also means that he doesn't care much for his outfits, if anything he just throws on shorts and if he really needs to, a shirt. You'll only catch him nicely dressed if there's something important going on, which usually is not his type of environment.
Cruise's fast-paced lifestyle has cost him though. You can tell he's out all night and restless because of the circles under his eyes. Not to mention the countless cuts and bruises he gets from being out in the ocean so much getting pounded by the large waves or going too hard during training. His most noticeable scar is on his eyebrow, and it goes down towards the bottom of his ear. It's not the ugliest thing, and in fact he thinks it makes him look badass.
"HERE FOR A GOOD TIME, NOT A LONG TIME"
Cruise isn't all bad like the reputation he's known for. But it's true that he's reckless, cocky, and conceited. He knows he better than a lot of people and makes sure to show it. It also doesn't help that he's a career tribute, and they're trained to be the best. He does have the skills to back himself up, but when he loses he goes down hard, and is a sore loser. That then leads him to work harder the next round.
He also has a loud and hot mouth, always speaking his mind which gets him into trouble. Cruise loves to question authority. He'll never turn down a dare unless absolutely necessary, not wanting to seem lame. He won't take things seriously until it's too late. He's got a lot of work to do with his attitude, but he knows there's time to relax later.
The good thing about his arrogance is that he makes sure that the people who don't deserve to be hurt by it are out of his way. As much as he loves pranking people and showing off, he shows compassion and respect towards those he thinks deserve it. And as much as he loves himself, he isn't the most selfish person, and will lend a hand when he can. But when it comes to being to best, he wants to be it. After all, he's just a kid trying to have fun and show everyone else how awesome he is.
"WORK HARD, TRAIN HARDER"
Cruise comes from the middle tier of Four, a typical family full of fishermen who are all hard working. Too young to work at the docks, he spent his childhood goofing off at the beach with his two older brothers, Torrent and Reign. Along with the other neighborhood kids, they formed a group of troublemakers who roamed the streets playing pranks and pickpocketing when they wanted a challenge.
Cruise's parents were upset with Cruise's behavior, ashamed of the trouble he and his brothers caused. So they stuck the three of them in career training. At first, Cruise was upset, losing all of his freedom to a strict training regime. But soon he began to realize how much more glory he could have if he were to win the games, and he began to love the idea of being a career. He became a pretty hard worker because of this, but his success also started to lead to him becoming overconfident and arrogant.
As fun as career training was, it came with a price. His friends, a lot of whom were from the poorer parts of the district, didn't like how Cruise was now one of the upper class. He had a decision to make: stop training and throw all of his work down the drain, or continue with the role he was now beyond accustomed to. Eventually he lost touch with his friends, but luckily not his brothers who dropped out of training due to realizing they were no where near as good as the other kids.
Sometimes Cruise regrets the selfish decisions he's made over the years, but then again he is enjoying his life at the moment and how he's seen his full potential. His parents are proud and supportive, and he's now thankful for them putting him into training where he's thrived. After all, he likes the attention.
