Giove Silvanus
Male, Age 17
District 2
Career
To call Giove ugly, however, would be something only the bravest souls would attempt to do. The rest of his body only serves to show the power of the fearsome boy. He stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, towering over most people his age, and admittedly many who are older. He is 190 pounds of pure muscle that he painstakingly works on building every chance he can get. He was only seventeen, but with the greatness of his size you could be forgiven for thinking him to be older. It was rare that people dared to insult his appearance, although he rarely cared; there was much more important things to concern himself with than his looks.
He didn't think twice about becoming a Career. He saw the admiration and respect the Careers got from the rest of the District and from the Capitol for their willingness to risk death in exchange for glory in the Hunger Games. Respect breeds power, and to win the Hunger Games would earn Giove more respect than he could ever hope to have.
And being a Career suited him well. He was fearsome and brutal, and was easy to provoke into a fight. He liked to be in control, not only of himself but of the people around him. To be a Career was to turn these traits into something beneficial, tools by which he can obtain that power he so desperately wants.
Being a Career had also unlocked Giove's love for weapons. He saw a weapon as an extension of the person; the more powerful the weapon, the more powerful the person. Giove's consuming desire for power extended into weaponry as he worked hard to develop skill with various weapons. His favourite style of weapon, and perhaps his best, was blunt weaponry. There was something about the heaviness of them, the force required to master them, that made them the most powerful weapons in his eyes. And years and years of practice with these weapons have made their use a second nature to him.
An extra element of viciousness for an already vicious boy.
I wouldn't pity him for that, though. He'd kill any of them without a second thought if he had to. For as companionable as they could be to one another, Giove never saw them as anything other than adversaries, competitors for the same power he wants all to himself.
When it comes to girls, Giove doesn't let himself get too attached. After all, any one of them could end up being reaped with him for a Hunger Games, and she'd become another marked for the slaughter on his path to victory. He's seen too many games where lovers go to the Games together, with a desire to keep each other alive. He wasn't going to make that same mistake. But it didn't stop him from having a bit of fun every now and then. Hook up with a girl and never speak to her again.
He wouldn't have much time for dating anyways. He spends as much time as he can training his mind and body for the Hunger Games. If he gets reaped, he wants to be sure he's the image of what a tribute should be. The image of a golden hero in a sea of poorer, underfed, scared children. Compared to them, it's hard not to imagine Giove a winner.
He could taste the power of victory already.

APPEARANCE:
Everything about Giove Silvanus suggests he is not someone you want to mess with, someone you want in your life in any way if you can avoid it. For if you do, you know he'd only bring you trouble. He wears his blonde hair cropped short atop a broad, angular face. The long broken nose along his face tells you he's no stranger to a fight. and his eyebrows, prominent and angled, enhance the coldness of the look you see in his icy blue eyes. Perhaps on a better person, his flaws could be invisible and he could be seen as handsome. But Giove cannot hide the brutality that leaks out from inside him and seems only to emphasize the flaws on his face.To call Giove ugly, however, would be something only the bravest souls would attempt to do. The rest of his body only serves to show the power of the fearsome boy. He stands 6 feet 2 inches tall, towering over most people his age, and admittedly many who are older. PERSONALITY:
The idea of power was the one thing that Giove cared about in life. How it can be gained, how easily it can be lost, how cyclical the change of power between hands can be. He had seen power being exchanged his entire life; how the Careers of his District were held in esteem for their power. How tributes in each games exchange power as alliances grow and falter, as tributes fight and die. How the Capitol maintains its power over the Districts time and time again. For all his life, Giove knew he wanted to have power, and he'd do whatever he needed to do to gain it and hold onto it.He didn't think twice about becoming a Career. He saw the admiration and respect the Careers got from the rest of the District and from the Capitol for their willingness to risk death in exchange for glory in the Hunger Games. HISTORY:
His brutality and wickedness tend to be off-putting to most, but cruelty attracts cruelty, and Giove is surrounded by friends who share in his brutish ways. Although, perhaps "friend" is too generous a term for the people in Giove's life. He surrounds himself with people who look up to him, whether that be through admiration or awe. The company of people who make him feel powerful. They work their way into his good books, although most of them would leave him for dead if they had the chance.I wouldn't pity him for that, though. He'd kill any of them without a second thought if he had to. For as companionable as they could be to one another, Giove never saw them as anything other than adversaries, competitors for the same power he wants all to himself.
