Rinji has no siblings, and therefore, doesn't have to worry about being a role model for anyone. He likes it best this way, as it means that he has more freedom to do whatever he wants without worrying about what other people think of him. This doesn't mean, however, that he isn't hard-working. The young man has a very good work ethic, and does his best in all of his tasks that he's given in the lumber yard where he works. Usually, it's just splitting wood, but he still does the best he possibly can, his hands rough from the work.

Another thing about Rinji that's quite important to who he is, is that he's a very determined individual with things outside of his work, too. He's very protective of those he cares about, and is determined not to let anything hurt them, whether that be himself, his friends or his parents. Unfortunately, Rinji's protectiveness often turns into aggression toward whomever he's protecting someone against. He's someone who often yells when he's angry, and will sometimes even get into physical altercations with those that he feels angry toward.

Something Rinji seems to lack is a filter with his words. He's a brutally honest person. Sometimes, this makes him come off as rude. He's also very flirtatious, and often has a habit of sleeping around with people that he flirts with, if they express interest in him in return. If people don't show an interest in him in response, or they reject him in some way, he's one to typically just laugh it off, and sometimes even make jokes about himself in response. Despite his issues with anger, he's polite enough to know his boundaries.

Being an attractive young man, Rinji receives a lot of compliments, which have helped build his self-confidence over the years. He's become very confident in himself, although he isn't typically too boastful. The strength Rinji has built up over time is likely part of what people seem to find attractive about him. People also typically compliment him in ways such as telling him he's handsome. They also sometimes point out specific features that they like, such as his chocolate brown eyes and well-styled hair of a similar shade.

Rinji is also very a analytical individual. He makes sure that he observes his surroundings in as much of his entirety as he possibly can. This is so that no one can trick him or easily do things that he doesn't expect. He's someone who has proven to be difficult to surprise. Knowing what's going on around him is something very important to Rinji, and he's not a fan of surprises, typically, whether they are positive or negative, which is why he tries his best to avoid them altogether.

When it comes to the way that Rinji lives his life, one would say that he's quite well-off in regards to money. He lives with both of his parents, and they both make a good, solid income, as does Rinji himself. As a child, Rinji was always responsible, which has carried into his current life, too. He'd always help out around the house, and he still does. When he was younger, Rinji spent a lot of his time at home, and didn't make a lot of friends. Those that he did have for friends, however, he held a very close bond with, even to this day. He's a little bit better at making friends now, mostly due to his sense of humor, but still struggles here and there because of how brutally honest he can be sometimes.

As a child, many of the things that Rinji did with his friends were athletic, such as games that involved running around or throwing a ball back and forth with one another. Rinji still has the athletic abilities that he had as a child now, except more improved. Now, he and his friends will still do things such a throw a ball around or other athletic pastimes, but their favorite thing to do is go to parties together to hang out with each other and new people, trying to mingle.

Rinji has a lot more free time now that he's graduated from school. Most of his time when he's not working is spent with his friends. Family and friends are the most important things to Rinji in his life right now, and he hardly ever thinks about the Games. He figures that, the only reason he should ever have to think about the Games is if he or one of his friends is reaped, and so far, that hasn't happened yet.
