District 10A heavy weight sits on her shoulders with each breath she breathes. Sometimes it weighs her down, telling her she's not good enough, that she's a failure, that nobody likes her, yet somehow she manages a soft grin. Smiling is contagious, and even on the darkest of days, Jasmina wants the world to know a smile shines through. Whether it's helping an animal in need and doing her best nursing it back to health, or talking to a random stranger with tears streaming down their face, she's ready to spring into action and offer a hand.
Many times her parents tell her to keep her head held high because she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to, and while she agrees, Jasmina feels it's always impossible. Friends from school have used her simply to find a better way in life. They've dragged her along any time they're competing because they know they can beat her. They've belittled her, and bullied her, and even when she's found someone she wants to spend time with, they exploit her emotions.
She's very connected to her emotions and often struggles trying to do what's best. Sometimes she knows people are too far gone, yet she'll step out of her way trying to save them.Evil exists in the world, and Jasmina understands, knowing that nothing will ever change it, but if she can change the world for one person, then everything is worth it.
A helping hand goes along way, and it's leading her down the path to become a veterinarian. Maybe while she's at it, she can use what she's learned to save animals to better the lives of those who fall ill around her.
