Magi KarpD3Male17
Every day is much like the last.
He’s not much like the rest of the other boys in three. He likes to exercise and lift heavy things. Always been a bit of a bigger boy than the rest. Seems as though he’s not quite paying attention to the way of the world. But he keeps swimming along, even if it doesn’t seem to make much sense to him. So he goes on and does his best, though often this isn’t quite the way that it should be.
Magi gets terrible grades. We’re talking the sort of horrific marks that would make anyone else embarrassed to even set foot in school. But Magi just smiles and nods his head and says ‘I see’ in the sort of way that means he hasn’t quite understood why it would be so terrible to get every question on a true or false test wrong. But Magi is happy, floating along, doing his own thing. He’s never once been bothered by the fact he might not excel as other folks do. In fact, he might not do much of anything very well at all, but that didn’t stop him from being happy.
He’s got his mother and father who are both engineers, and love his desperately. They know he’s the oldest son and should set a better example for his sister, but it doesn’t seem as though he has the wits that both of them were blessed with. So they encourage him to find something – anything – that he’d good at. He’s got soldering in the factory, though they say that his hasn’t really been his forte either. He just sort of seems to be the type of boy that hasn’t got much of a chance in the real world.
Magi does make his friends laugh, though. They think of him as the sort of guy that’s always in on the joke, a little bit slow on the uptake but he does laugh right along with them. They know he’s got a good heart, and that’s what matters most. Even if his face is mostly a vacant expression that seems to indicate he might be one breath away from choking. But that’s all right. He’s got his own way of doing things, and he doesn’t mind if other folks poke fun.
It’s his strength, to be able to roll with the punches and bumble along. He’s got to be able to have a stiff upper lip if it means growing into something truly remarkable. It’s a great big sea and a big world out there. They just have to give him a chance to prove himself. It doesn’t mean that he’ll ever go on to be anything famous or great but he doesn’t mind. He just wants to keep swimming along, best he can.
