There can’t be many people left, but there’s no way to tell whether things will be winding down or ramping up. When the anthem plays tonight, it’s a wonder that you can see the faces of the tributes through the lingering heavy fog. But you do, and more faces follow the familiar notes than on any night before.Ezra Valencia, District Three16 gone, only 8 remain. Just 7 more must die if you ever hope to see your home again.
Kenji Nakamura, District Five
Terra Markov, District Six
JJ Wolfram, District Seven
Callum Leare, District Twelve
Congratulations on surviving Day Eight!
After the anthem dims and the night deepens, the wind begins to whisper over the open landscape. It remains mild through the night, but the wind chill does the still-crisp air no favors, and those of you still alone and scattered above ground find yourselves huddling into any shelter you can come by.
The fog finally begins to burn away with morning, and the wind carries the last wisps of it out, leaving behind what looks to be the most comfortable day you’ve had in some time--warmer than the last, at least. But the wind keeps rising throughout the day, strong enough that anyone in the usually-still outer reachers of the Petal Storm or along the Cloud Spire paths will see the smaller trees there begin to sway by late afternoon.
Nothing is calm forever, you suppose, except death.
