Mutt #222 - (Location Unknown)
Information unavailable...
Yeti - (Cornucopia, Ghost Trees, Foxholes, Bonfire, Tundra)
When the wind picks up, and comes howling through the land it’s hardly recognisable. A mighty beast that stands at over five meters tall it is a towering monstrosity that is not to be reckoned with. A long, thick fur covers it from head to toe, a set of small beady eyes are hardly visible, but most do not tend to look long searching for its eyes, they are too quickly distracted by the two large protruding canines that hang from it’s mouth. Ice grips its chin, the drool that so often leaks past its lips frozen on its face. If you have the courage to not run you will soon find yourself facing its long sharp claws, attached to arms with the strength to uproot trees from the very ground. Do not be fooled by its size, do not be fooled by it at all, it might be the last thing you do.
55hp. Classified as large game. Not poisonous.
Ice Monkeys - (Cornucopia, Ghost Trees, Bonfire, Foxholes)
A mixture of a monkey and a snow weasel, the 'ice' that is on them is actually hydroxylapatite, else known as 'bone mineral'. To create the illusion that is it ice, scientists have modified the mutt to form clear/white hydroxylapatite on its skin as its storage system, should there be minimal amounts of calcium in its bone. In old Christmas times, the monkeys would be used as Christmas tree decorations and have the monkeys twirl around and create a dance show. They were discontinued as decorations when kids would get under the tree - to get presents and dance with the animals - and the monkeys, after getting tired of hanging around all hours of the early morning, would fall off and their crystals would scratch and leave deep gashes on the children.
Not poisonous. Not edible. 15 HP.
Kodama - (Throughout)
If one did not know better, they would think the Kodoma a ghost. The creature moves in absolute silence, with a body that looks somewhat similar to a human's in that it stands upright and have two arms and two legs. The similarities stop there, though, for this particular mutt has a wide, round abdomen, no fingers or toes, and an oval head with two dark eyes and an equally dark mouth, so that the three features can barely be distinguished from each other. The rest of its body is opalescent, smooth, and free of even the slightest feature, and it's tiny, maybe a foot and a half tall at most. The Kodama are generally a puzzling creature. Unlike most mutts, they were created to cheer up people in the Capitol who were old, sick, or depressed, meant to be a kind of therapy. Their behavior didn't exactly go as planned, though - the creatures would often just stand there, making an occasional call that sounded high pitched and distant. They amused patients, however, and were therefor kept. In the Arena, they have been known to be actually helpful. They travel in packs and often do little more than watch tributes with their wide eyes and bring them food. Still, their presence has been known to be greatly calming to many, even the unlucky teenagers slated for almost certain death.
N/A HP. Non Edible. <> Will act as the DELIVERY WORDS for the 86th Hunger Games.
Pengull - (Cornucopia, Glass Lake, Ghost Trees, Bonfire, Tundra)
A cross between a seagull and a penguin at first they were simply designed by a lowly mutt creator who was looking for some excitement. He’d always been fascinated by penguins, but hated the fact that they could not fly. This entire mutt was first designed, simply out of a need to see a penguin take flight, however, even though this penguin looking mutt had feathery wings it was still unable to take off from the ground. After his design was discovered it was changed, and it’s small beak was enlarged, and sharpened to a deadly and dangerous point. However, still to no avail could they give this mutt the ability to fly, instead they satisfied themselves with it’s larger, wider set body, allowing its feathery wings to sit closer to its chest, and instead of giving it flight they instead decided that it would be a bird of prey, being pierced by its beak won’t only hurt, you’ll also be poisoned.
20hp. Classified as small game. Poisonous.
Ghares - (Glass Lake, Foxholes, Tundra)
These mutts are the size of an arctic hare, and just like the arctic hare they take on the rough shape of these snow dwelling creatures. From there, though, the resemblance ends. With an almost ice looking coat you cannot be fooled to think that they are soft and easy to teach. Ice coats each and every individual hair on its pelt. Its eyes gleam with a red sheen to them. You cannot see its teeth, but in its mouth are three rows of sharp, spiky teeth that drip with venom. It was originally designed to be a household pet, but was adapted to the arenas climates by giving it the icy coat and poisonous bite. Typically they like to move around in groups of two or three, knowing that hunting down food for them to eat is easier that way. They are not herbivores and prefer to eat animals smaller than themselves, and will, on occasion even take on some that are larger.
10hp. Classified as small game. Poisonous.
Owl of Athena - (Throughout)
Originally named Password Owls, these mutts were designed by the Capitol to guard checkpoints - Only people with the right answers could enter safe-houses or pass gates. Obviously people on the side of the Captiol would know the word to pass, whilst it would be more difficult for the enemy. The Owl of Athena is a bird that is twice the size of a usual owl and has talons that rival an eagle's. It is able to speak, or transmit words from a superior power. It appreciates the knowledge of Tributes, and lays down a series of questions or riddles to prove worth. If answered incorrectly, the Owl of Athena will frenzy, attacking anything near it.
12 hp. Edible. Not poisonous. Classified as small game.
Seeley - (Glass Lake)
The Seeley was designed to stalk their prey from underneath the ice. The Capitol wanted more suprise attacks to get more sudden drama going in the Games. Their body is that of a leopard seal, grey and white with black spots, and rather large, being at about 13 feet in total length. Despite their size, if they are on ice, they can move quickly by twisting their body side to side like a sidewinder to chase they prey. Underneath the fur is thick, leathery skin much like a rhinoceros's, and another rhino trait is the hard upward-facing horn protruding from on top of its nose. The Seeley uses this horn to break through the ice in order to attack tributes, sometimes just lunging out of the water far enough to bite a tribute's leg and just drag them under the ice. Its teeth are all sharp and jagged aside from the two long tusks that stick down from its top jaw. In these tusks is tetrodotoxin poison, which can, if the tip of the tusks are in a living tribute's body long enough, can cause the diaphragm muscles to freeze up, overall numbness, rapid heart rate, low blood pressure, and muscle paralysis. After roughly 24 hours, the poison will kill you.
30 hp. No food classification. Poisonous.
Polar Pip - (Throughout)
Perhaps one of the most unopposing mutts to ever be designed, the Polar Pip seems to be nothing but a small cute white fuzz ball with two tiny eyes. However, these mutts were actually engineered to be like living snow mines during the Dark Days. Hiding buried beneath freshly fallen snow, the Polar Pip is practically impossible to spot until it's too late. Step on or near the extremely territorial little thing and a row of sharp needle-like teeth await your limbs. Said to be a genetic alteration of some kind of badger, these are some small pips you want to avoid.
10 HP. Not poisonous. Not edible. Knife rolls.
Snowskey - (Throughout)
From a distance, they may seem like nothing more than another build up of snow. Upon closer inspection though, the Snowskey is far from just another bundle of frost. Originally bred entirely for pet purposes, the Snowskey became a staple of wealth in the Capitol. Genetically designed to be beautiful mixture of wolf and huskey, the Snowskey became acclaimed for their warm-fuzzy snow white coats and striking electric blue eyes. However, despite their highly loyal attributes and typically docile temperment, it was discovered that the Snowskey are actually very powerful mutts and especially effective in cold climates as one would expect.
N/A HP. Not poisonous. No Food Specification. Tameable *Per the 86th Hunger Games Specific Rules.
Arctic Porcufox - (Glass Lake, Ghost Trees, Foxholes, Tundra)
Small, cute, and seemingly harmless, the porcufoxes were intended to be ticking time bombs specially designed to take out resistance cells in the colder climates of Panem. Set a pack of the miniature, snow white creatures loose near a known base, charm unsuspecting rebels with their affectionate manner, and then once they were inside, boom - a signal sent to their brains transformed them into rabid, slavering beasts, their soft fur hardening into needles sharper than any knife. For a while, it worked, for there was always that one animal lover charmed by the cute little things, until both Capitolite scientists and rebel intelligence realized that the needle-fur and the programming alike quite literally melted outside of frigid environments. Thus, they were tossed aside as a failed experiment, turning into beloved pets by the occasional daring Capitolite, until a veteran Gamemaker plucked them from obscurity to test their effectiveness on the battlefield again. Modifications were made; no longer were the porcufoxes affectionate and docile, nor rabid and aggressive, but somewhere in between, a cautious, territorial creature born from the mix. The needle fur was permanently activated as well, and by giving the porcufoxes the ability to fire these needles at their foes at will.
20 HP. No food classification. Not poisonous. Attacks with needles (throwing knife).
Silver Wraith - (Cornucopia, Glass Lake, Tundra)
An engima among genetic engineering feats, the Silver Wraith is an almost ethereal entity. The carefully calculated combination of lizard and crystal has crafted a dragon-like complexion. Opalesent scales trickled over with colorless crystal that seem to mirror light. The only set back? The Silver Wraith survive only in extremely cool temperatures, making thems some of the hardest to own and most exotic pets in the Capitol. The bonus? In Arenas akinned to the cold, the Silver Wraith flourishes. Claws crafted for skating over frost and teeth sharp for the strike.
25 HP. Not poisonous. Not edible. Knife rolls.
Contest Winners
Festivideer - (Throughout)
Originally intended to be a sort of living Ratmas decoration, these reindeer have their antlers adorned in Ratmas ornaments and festive lights of varying colors. The Festivideer were perfect as the Capitol's next new trend at first- the lights on their antlers were always turned on, and their ornaments looked great- they seemed like exactly what the people wanted, until they started dying. Whether it be because some people didn't realize they needed to give their living decorations nourishment or because the climate was too warm for them, slowly, their population began to dwindle. Therefore, they were taken away from the average citizens by Capitol officials who had their own ideas in mind for them.

30 HP. Not Poisonous. Classified as Large Game.
Ice Spirit - (Throughout)
They were wisps in the wind—bright balls of fluorescent blue lights that make their homes in the glass-like trees that dotted the arena's landscape, huddling in flocks on the barren branches so when a lone tribute passes they believe they are just the leaves on the tree. Even though these spirits are kind and benevolent creatures, there's a ferocity, a savageness to them when they feel threatened. In the face of danger, they surround their assailants like a pack of wolves, pouncing on them with razor-like fins and sharpened fangs. When killed these spirits shatter like glass, and the light that once glowed around them flickers, fading into the darkness around them.

N/A HP. Not Poisonous. Not edible.
Goramont - (Glass Lake, Fox holes, Bonfire, Tundra)
Hulking masses of fur and ice, it is impossible to miss these huge creatures, and also nearly impossible to escape them. If not for the pair of icicles that jut out of its front end to resembled three feet long tusks, a person would have a difficult time distinguishing which end of the creature was which. They stand at roughly fifteen feet tall, large mounds of hair that is almost always covered in permafrost, and they are slow-moving until provoked, which causes them to charge their foes. They've been known to uproot entire trees, so one would do well to avoid standing in their path once they go into a rampage.

40 HP. Not poisonous. Classified as Large Game.
Nimbeaus - (Throughout)
There, amidst the storm, seems to be a particular flurry of snow and fog. It doesn't obey the wind currents in the same way, gliding effortlessly on its own route. It is only later that you think you hear the sound of a bird dwelling within it. The Nimbeaus is a glorious, beautiful manifestation of wintery beauty. A peacock painted white, its DNA infused with mist- some would say its wings are made of clouds themselves. Its song is one of harmony and grace, like wind whistling across the arctic sea, but make no mistake: beautiful things can hurt, too. Get too close and you'll have more than its sharp talons and beak to worry about, but the flurries of cold air that surround it at all times have been reported to cause minor cases of frostbite!
