IVAN RIN
Trainer
Being the one who taught the victor kid how to shoot is definitely something to boast about. Ivan had trained for years, waiting for an opportunity like this to show itself. He was the head trainer for the 87th tributes, and he was determined to scope out the ones he thought had potential, work with them, and turn one of them into a victor. He managed to exactly that, too.
Flynn was a small boy from Six, but for some reason, when Ivan saw him, he saw potential. He saw a possible young victor behind those eyes, and he wanted to help shape him. That's why he helped him. He started with showing him how to use knives, and then moved onto the guns. Guns weren't typical in the arena, but they'd shown up a couple of times, so Ivan figured that focusing on them couldn't hurt, and boy was he ever right.
When it came to actually being in the arena, Flynn wielded his gun even better than Ivan expected him to, as he wasn't sure if the boy would retain all of the information he'd learned in training or not. Apparently, he didn't forget much of anything, if anything at all.
Now, as the victory tour was circling through, Ivan wanted to be sure to get at least one last meeting with the young victor. Flynn would have gone through and surely visited a lot of people by now, but Ivan wouldn't let himself be forgotten on that list.
Upon seeing Flynn, Ivan approached the boy and extended his hand.
"Sharp shooting out there, kid," he said to him. "Looks like our training paid off, yeah?" Ivan let out a chuckle.
