Six knew he had to do self-defense, well if he wanted to live at least. He was smaller and younger than many of the tributes this year and he needed to be able to protect himself. Most of it was pretty hard for him due to his lack of upper body strength and his fears coming to life by being exposed to combat. However, he wasn't the only one who seemed to be having issues. The girl from district 10 was also having issues. He forgot what her name was, but remembered her from district 10s reaping videos. She was having trouble performing a proper punch and he thought about helping her.
Growing up with fourteen siblings in a small farmhouse there were definitely fights galore. Six tried to stay out of them, but would often end up in the cross fire or watching from the sidelines. But that gave him an advantage in this case. With all of the fights his siblings have had over the years he had seen countless punches thrown and thus knew the proper technique, even if he never really used it. And, maybe she could help him out with what he was struggling with. He knew that she was technically the enemy, but he didn't want to just watch her struggle. That's not who Six was.
Over the past few days, Six had slowly been changing. Everyone had been changing. That's what the Capitol does to you. It molds you into what it wants you to be, a toy for it's entertainment. But, it doesn't change who you are at your core. That is something that will never change. And at his core? At his core Six was empathetic and he cared about other people. He wasn't going to let the Capitol take that away from him. They could take his innocence, his family, his life, and his childhood, but they would never take away what makes Six himself.
And with that he cleared his throat and spoke up to the girl, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything, but I was wondering if maybe you wanted some help?"
