[presto][/presto]The world became a landscape of over-saturated technicolor.
Estelle didn't notice it before — granted, she was too busy trying not to die. She laid collapsed on the ground with her limbs straggled in every direction. Her chest was rising and falling with each shallow breath she took. After a few minutes of lying there, her vision blurred but unmoved from the aquamarine sky above her, she managed to get rid of the shakiness that snaked into her bones. Estelle sat up with her knees pulled to her chest like armor, craning her neck in every direction to see what kind of morbid arena they decided to stick her in. For as far as her eyes could see there was an expanse of emerald sprawling around her, and a shimmering blue lake that laid to the west was almost entirely veiled by her narrowed field of view. To the east was a field of scattered trees that danced in the wind and wooden cabins that peeked from behind their branches.
It all seemed so—
peaceful.
The wind was aromatic, but the secrets it whispered were anything but sweet. There's something lurking beneath the surface of this place, but Estelle can't put her finger on it.
Estelle wipes off the dirt from her khaki pants as she kicks off the ground, anxiously staring at her new world around her. It's so different from Eleven, so different from all she's grown to know. How was she supposed to survive here? Estelle didn't know the answer to that question, and she wasn't sure she'd ever know, but she swore she'd try no matter how loud her mind screamed at her to give up. She owes that much to Cat and Luna.
So she ventures off further into the arena, scared of the unknown and even more scared of what she does. But there is one thing on her mind that she repeats perpetually because the more she says it the more she believes it could happen.
